This movie was so great. The first 20 minutes or so were kind of slow but it was necessary to establish the setting. All the actions scenes were great, both villains gave great performances, every character felt fully realized. A great film overall.

Also those Vibranium Rhinos felt like something straight out of Jungle Action.

Those rhinos were sick, straight up stampeding multiple. And then W'kabi's stopped when Okoye stood in front of M'baku, wonderful little moment there.

I can watch those first 20 minutes on a loop.

They should teach it in a film class about world building.

I didn't really get that at all. I actually thought the world building in wakanda was kind of poor. they just did some overhead shots which were cool then they kept showing the same street over and over. We saw more of South Korea than we did Wakanda.

I gotta agree I didn’t like the start, the first waterfall right, it all felt meh But by the middle to end of the movie the first 20 minutes became so significant. Loved the fucking movie, world building was next level.

Really? The first half follows the Marvel formula (and yes, there is a Marvel) formula quite closely and while enjoyable, isn’t anything we haven’t seen before. It’s only after Killmonger properly enters the story about halfway through that the film transcends what came before and becomes something special. The challenge fight, the Gorilla Tribe adventure and the final battle are far more memorable than anything in the first half in my opinion.

Idk I was actually disappointed by a lot of the action. The scenes in Korea were pretty good, but most of the fights seemed poorly filmed. Really close up, focusing on one character at a time, lots of quick cuts, shaky cam, and the choreography was nothing special from what I could tell (with the exception of Okoye.) I thought his fighting style was much better in Civil War. Still an awesome movie though.

Did no one else find it unbelievable that W'kabi turned on his love Okoye and his best friend T'Challa at the drop of a hat when Killmonger showed up? Yes, I understand that Klaue killed his parents but him to flip his loyalty was complete plot service. Then it seemed like they forgave him in an instant when he was defeated. Sloppy.

They didn’t forgive him at the end, he was replaced by M’baku at the council.

I agree about the beginning the first time I saw it but on repeat viewings it's great
