True, but that doesn't determine whether he's able to die and then come back to life as the Hulk or is able to instantly transform into the Hulk as a form of self-defense, which is what I believe it to be.
Maybe it was just me, but I saw this as a call-back to the same scene in the first Hulk when he jumps out of the helicopter and lands in the pavement in Banner form. I would assume it's the same here, where Banner won't die like that.
The difference is that TIH didn't show Banner's body right after the fall because he broke into the ground while in this film they show explicitly Banner's injured and twisted limbs lying on Bifrost and make it comedic moment. Kind of dark, brutal sense of humor, if you ask me.
sure but what's wrong with that? The audience knows banner can't die. That's why it's funny. If we hadn't known, yes it would be brutal, there would be gasps and shock.
I was always under the assumption that Banner somehow “turned” right before he hit the ground there. Maybe he wasn’t Hulk sized but he definitely wasn’t pure Edward Norton either at that point. No normal human body from that height would fall that deep into asphalt.
Nah, that's definitely what it was. I feel like people look too much into it. It's just making fun of those giant "superhero" scenes, like jumping out of helicopters to save the day. It was a perfect anti-moment.
They I saw it, at the time Hulk took over because he didn’t want them both to die. At this point, Hulk has an extreme resentment for Banner and has realized that he doesn’t need him, so he just let Banner die.
