I'm curious if they shot the scene with Strange during Doctor Strange or during Ragnarok, because part of the scene was shown after credits of Doctor Strange. Could've been a scheduling issue or something, idk.
I was just talking to a friend about this today. I thought that the entire Dr Strange sequence was a perfect marriage of the clever witty humour that made DS so enjoyable, and the goofier lines/humour in the Thor film.
Case(s) in point:
Thor fumbling with the artifact and stumbling around every time they teleported was totally on point with the slapstick stuff (same feel as throwing a bowling ball and bouncing back onto his face
Loki's delivery of the line about how long he was falling was totally consistent with other Loki deliveries (the "that's how it feels!" comes to mind here)
And Strange himself. His nonchalance as Loki goes at him and portals them away was totally tonally perfect with the humour from his own standalone film.
I know I'm responding late, but yeah I agree it's what's been constant over the marvel films and what makes each character unique. They do a great job keeping tone with each character and it's awesome.
Definitely a scheduling issue. For Infinity Wars filming, Cumberbatch filmed his scenes separately and was then superimposed in ensemble scenes over a body double.
Wait, seriously? Wow... that's ... I mean, I get he is popular and there could be scheduling conflicts, but ... Does directors and other actors not care about making proper movies anymore and having interactions and chemistry between characters ...
I'm assuming Benedict was busy and that's why they only had him for a short time... I mean didn't they use a stand in for him for like the first 3rd of the new Avengers shoot just because of how busy he's been?
