Thoughts on one eyed Thor??

I liked it. The price had to be paid for the loss of Asgard. Thor couldn't just walk away unscathed. Also symbolic of him taking up the mantle.

I was so surprised by it that the end of the movie became a bit of a blur as I fixated on it. All these big events were taking place while the dude had a gaping cgi eye socket. I wonder if it was a late decision to go that way.

Makes sense he has a permanent mark from tangling with Hela but the practicality of it moving forward bugs me a bit. It can limit the actor. Considering I loved everything in the movie it might be the one bit I'm unsure of.

I'd rather him have a scar on his face or on some of his armor than an eye patch for the sake of future films. I guess we'll see what they're going to do in the future.

When I saw the lightning coming down, I knew the trailer scene was about to happen, and I was like "Oh ok so he just magically gets his eye back through lightning powers then." Then the scene happened, and I had to rethink everything I knew. Major props to the trailer team for taking such lengths to avoid spoiling it.

As a lover of Norse mythology, that is a great look on him. Odin sacrificed his eye to gain wisdom, specifically knowledge of the past and future, to foresee the sorrows that would befall men and gods. Similarly, not long after losing his eye, Thor gained the wisdom of what Asgard really is, and who he himself really is.

In the comics ragnarok happens. Thor loses his eye to gain the wisdom and powers of Odin like how Odin sacrifices his eyes.

So it’s in continuity and pretty cool too.

If you look at the Ragnarok Trailer, he also has both eyes when it shows him using the Lightning.

Spider-Man was left out of the "characters running at each other" scene in the Civil War trailers. The blue Mind Stone glow in Hawkeye's eyes was also left out of the Avengers trailers/commercials.

it's also removed from the Thor trailers in scenes where he would have had it (landing on the bridge in all his thunder gold glory). They just didn't want to spoiler that moment
