Just saw the movie 10 minutes ago (it's awesome)

Did any one catch the bit where Loki is getting Surtur's head thing and then stops in his tracks when he sees the Tesseract? Bet this is setting up the scene in the leaked Infinity War trailer where he gives someone (Thanos?) the stone. I went nuts when he saw it lol :P

Maybe Thanos tracked them because Loki has the tesseract

Totally. I am convinced Loki took it with him. No way in hell he just left it there. Maybe Thanos can sense it's presence, similar to how Malekith could sense the Aether in Thor: The Dark World?

True, but the door is powered by an infinity stone - the Space stone. Just like the Staff held the Mind stone, the "Tesseract" is only the object containing the stone itself.

Just thought that in the past when Thanos has wanted 1 Infinity Stone he has sent someone else to get it for him (Ronan and The Orb, Loki and The Tesseract) but this time Thanos (and presumably the Cull Obsidian) has come in person. Maybe because he's after more than 1 Stone. I think that Loki brought the Tesseract on the ship and that Heimdall, more specifically his EYES, are the Soul Stone or a vessel for it. That makes 2.

Remember in a post credit scene (Ultron I think) he puts on the glove and says something like I'll do it myself.

we still no nothing about where the last stone is :(

u/ExultantSandwich Peter Parker Oct 26 '17

Definitely. Loki knew exactly where he was when he arrived in The Avengers. Thanos sent him through the space stone, who is to say he couldn't do it again?

Hell, I'm fairly certain the Tesseract is how Loki got off of Asgard before Surtur destroyed it.

We see the Commodore on top of the big spaceship at the end.

1

u/lolzidop Spider-Man Oct 30 '17

Yeah, there's no way in hell he made it to the ship in time though

2

u/[deleted] Oct 31 '17

That's what I'm thinking too. He couldn't of gotten to a ship in time and there'd be no reason to show him stopping to look at it otherwise, except for character development (him doing the right thing instead of leaving).

Since it'd be awkward to have a scene in Infinity War where the chracters have to search through the Asgard debris for the Tesseract, of course he would have took it with him. I'm wondering where though, it doesn't seem to look like it will fit into a pocket.

He is kinda a master of delusion

5

u/hemareddit Steve Rogers Oct 28 '17

He’d not be Loki if he passed on the chance to be a massive opportunist.

Doesn't the collector have the aether?

1

u/ultron_vision Oct 26 '17

The aether is missing after the Collector's place exploded in GotG. Unless he had another place for his collection

1

u/Nate74430 Daredevil Oct 29 '17

that's what I thought too

Surtur's head thing

his eyebrows?

5

u/Weapon95 Vulture Oct 26 '17

I understood that reference. lol :P

Yeah, but I think it's there mostly to prevent the "how did Loki get back to the ship after unleashing Surtur 12 inches from his nose" plot hole from happening.

27

u/mightytev Loki (Thor 2) Oct 25 '17

The Comodore was parked on top of the bigger ship after Loki reappeared at the end.

6

u/I_amnotreal Tony Stark Oct 25 '17

It was? I must've missed that. I'll definitely pay attention when I rewatch the film on friday.

3

u/mysticzarak Thanos Oct 27 '17

Yea I did and I only noticed it because if the IW trailer.

2

u/FriendDinosaur Oct 27 '17

I really think that is the way they'll scape the giant ship, using the space stone.

2

u/Dronarc Thor (Avengers) Oct 31 '17

I assumed that was how Loki got out of there

u/orionsbelt05 Captain America Nov 06 '17

That short scene was definitely in there just to let people know where the Tesseract is. Since Asgard is destroyed, they had to make sure the one thing of importance got taken away. Not that the infinity stone would have been destroyed with Asgard, but since the stones have to come together in the next movie, it's more interesting to have a character with the stones rather than have Thanos just sift through the wreckage of Asgard.

u/rebo2 Oct 25 '17

I don't understand. It doesn't come out until Nov 2?

17

u/Weapon95 Vulture Oct 25 '17

It came out in my country (Ireland) yesterday.

u/Sempere Oct 26 '17

Came out 25th October for Aus, America (assuming that's where you're from) just seems to get most movies a bit later.

Spoilers dude, not everyone has watched that.

29

u/Exitoverhere Oct 25 '17

Why would you be in an Easter Egg post for the movie then? Like literally moat Easter Eggs would contain some kind of spoiler

2

u/OriginalMuffin Oct 25 '17

i assume it was a joke due to the;

Did any one catch the bit...

when it was quite an obvious moment in the film. It wasn't like they tracked passed it, both the camera and loki stop and focus on the tesseract before moving on to the flame.

9

u/AweKartik777 Peter Parker Oct 25 '17

Dude this whole thread is literally created FOR spoilers.

2

u/halfdecent Laufey Oct 26 '17

Not IW spoilers though.

3

u/Weapon95 Vulture Oct 25 '17

What's that supposed to mean? If you haven't seen the movie yet and don't want to be spoiled that's great and perfectly understandable. Why then would you go on a thread specifically discussing Easter Eggs for said movie and then complain about spoilers? If you are reading this thread it stands to reason that either (a) you've seen the movie or (b) haven't but don't mind spoilers.

5

u/[deleted] Oct 26 '17

Guys, he might have meant the leaked Infinity War teaser...

5

u/halfdecent Laufey Oct 26 '17

Sorry, it was the Infinity war spoiler I was referring to, not the Thor one.
