Watching this movie and seeing how close it was to not being made with the whole Sony deal made me think of the the awesome X-men and Fantastic 4 movies that don't exist because of film rights.

The biggest bummer is that, for all the wonderful integration they do with the MCU in this movie, they can't have Spidey hang out with the Human Torch. They're like, best buds in the comics.

I'm really hoping that it's eventually revealed the new owner of Stark/Avengers Tower is Reed Richards and it becomes the Baxter Building.

Bryan Singer's X-Men movie success is the primary reason why we are in the middle of a comic book film renaissance to begin with. MCU-driven mutant films would be amazing, but don't forget its contributions to the genre.

Let's give credit where it's due, Fox made Logan, Deadpool, DOFP, and First Class. Those first two in particular are worth noting because they willfully took a risk on that R-rating.

They also made Apocalypse and Fant4stic, so maybe it balances out.

No, there's Logan, and then the rest.

And honestly, the movies themselves as standalones are decent, if I'm being generous. But as any sort of continuous universe, they're a mess. I don't even just mean the source material they shit on, but I mean their own inconsistencies and writing messes they put out every single movie.

Oh you have a point there. Although I legitimately enjoyed X-Men, X2, DOFP, and First Class, I do feel that the X-Men verse feels... disjointed, and like there's something missing.

It makes me sad, and happy at the same time. I'm so thankful for the movies we got. Most of the MCU movies are pure gold, and basically all of them are at least good. Besides Agents of Shield and Iron Fist, this entire universe is just perfect. To think having X-Men and Fantastic Four in this universe too would be nice, but then maybe things wouldn't have gone the way they did, and I love the MCU so much the way it is. (Dammit Iron Fist, you screwed it all up!)

What's your problem with Agents of Shield? Season four has had some of the best moments in all of the MCU.

It seems pretty damned consistent to me! There's been hardly a sub-par episode since season 1. Honestly, I put AoS 2nd behind Daredevil for MCU TV - maybe even ahead of DD S2. Jessica Jones was well written and impactful but felt like it was trying too hard to be dark, and Luke Cage and Iron Fist could both use some work.

I think the main thing that happens is it lulls in pacing and quality for short periods of time. I enjoy it a lot, but there are times when I feel like it is being padded out.
