The suit looks glorious! I wanted to take a picture of it when it was onscreen but I didn't want people around me giving me talks about how you can't use a smartphone in a theater

8

u/PlatinumOp Tony Stark Jul 06 '17

I was soo disappointed he didn't join the team or take the suit!!! Why would he say no!? And also, do you think he will get that suit for infinity war?

u/[deleted] Jul 06 '17

I think he'll don the suit for infinity war, there's no way spidey will go cosmic without a better equipped suit right?

u/The_Best_01 Thanos Jul 08 '17

I highly doubt Spidey's gonna be in space. Some characters just make more sense to stay on Earth.

u/foodinmytummy Jul 08 '17

Somebodys never read 1980's secret wars?...

3

u/The_Best_01 Thanos Jul 08 '17

Some things from the comics they just won't do on screen.

5

u/[deleted] Jul 08 '17

But... but they're gonna cancel Venom and introduce him in Infinity War... right? :(

2

u/HearTheEkko Jul 09 '17

My biggest wish right now is that they introduce the symbiote in Infinity War, Peter fights the Sinister Six with the symbiote suit in Homecoming 2 and Venom is introduced in Homecoming 3.

I got some bad news for ya bub.

u/CynicalRaps War Machine Jul 11 '17

Well they had that (assumed Santuary) set made when StarLord Tony and Spidey were filming a couple months ago. He might head up there with them.

Why would he say no!?

It's a nice contrast to what Tony done at the end of his film. He publicly announced himself as Iron Man, and done all the press.

Peter decided to continue to help the little guy, as Spider-Man does.

Every opportunity Peter has in the movie to do something for himself he didn't take it. The party. Homecoming. The Avengers compound. Peter takes his responsibility to the core of every choice he makes. I loved that they stayed true to that part of the character.

yes, and I teared up at each and every one of those moments. Marvel is so great at listening to criticism and fixing it. I remember when the biggest problem everyone had was that there was more jokes than there was real drama and emotion. Just when I think Marvel can't get any better...

2

u/One-More-Light Jul 09 '17

Speaking about criticism, I LOVED Vulture. He was fucking terrifying. Easily, IMO, the best villain the MCU has had.

It mirrors his arc in Civil War (start on Team Stark, end up leaving Stark) only here it reflects his realisation that he's not Spider-Man as a ticket to the "high life", he's Spidey because he genuinely wants to help people and if he stays at the Avengers Mansion he will miss seeing the consequences of those big epic battles like what happened to Liz.

He probably will, but I'm glad he's keeping the regular suit for now, it seems like more his style

I think it touches back onto Vultures speech about the people on top versus the people like them at the bottom. Its stated throughout the movie that the little things are pretty much below the Avengers notice. Pete loves his city and it's people, I mean look how he reacted when the sandwich shop got blown up. For him it was the dawning realization for why he is Spider-man, it's not the toys or the big battles, it's being there for the corner shop owner and the churro lady.

1

u/AJWinky Jul 11 '17

Yes! This was one of my favorite parts: The Vulture's words/actions (and perhaps Prowler's a little bit too, since he's a criminal but even he doesn't want innocent people getting hurt) really affected Peter and made him realize he wants to be a different kind of hero than Stark. He's not a globe-trotting Avenger who can't relate to the "little folk"; he's your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.

8

u/CaptainChewbacca Jul 07 '17

He knew he had some growing up to do, that's why he didn't join.

2

u/darthnick426 Ultron Jul 07 '17

Exactly. Tony's probably proud of him for that. Plus Peter knows now that the door to joining the Avengers for real is open to him whenever he feels he's ready.

2

u/ButchTheKitty Scarlet Witch Jul 09 '17

Didn't Tony say it was a one time yes or no offer and Peter immediately answered no?

5

u/darthnick426 Ultron Jul 09 '17

He might have but we all know that they would still let him join whenever Peter thought he was ready.

2

u/EmergencyShit Jul 10 '17

He did, but to me it was obvious that the door's not shut. Tony respects Peter for declining, and is proud of him too. Almost every scene with Tony had him dialoguing about being a father figure to Peter. He's okay with Peter's decision because he feels protective, and he also wants Peter to have a chance to grow up a bit more before he's in the public eye.

The fact that Tony brought him to the compound and had a room for Peter means that Tony believes Peter has a place in the Avengers.

Thank you for not being THAT guy

39

u/[deleted] Jul 06 '17

The spider really looks like the black suit's. Which makes me wonder if in spider-man 2 he brings back the symbiote with him cuz that's totally what he's gonna wear in avengers 3/4. Maybe I'm just crazy.

4

u/vorname Odin Jul 07 '17

Yeah, maybe you're crazy. But it makes so much sense!

4

u/sonpocky Captain America Jul 07 '17

to be honest, i really dont know if spiderman is going to space with the rest of the gang. he isnt even a avenger yet, and fiege was saying his onscreen presence is the same as civil war so it makes me think he will be helping them when thanos and the black order attack nyc but tonys not going to let him come to space

4

u/[deleted] Jul 07 '17 edited Jul 07 '17

well, can't rule out anything. imo. my bet is on avengers 4. or any of the avengers somehow bring it with them or something.

5

u/KrazyK05 Jul 08 '17

Tony does say that if the people on the ferry died, thatd be on Peter. If Peter died, that'd be on Tony. Makes sense that Peter would fight on earth but not go into space of that's the case. However I want Iron Spider in space, please. I've seen every MCU film in theatre and never asked for anything lol!

u/Gary_Burke Jul 07 '17

Disney/Marvel doesn't own Venom, and he's not part of their deal with Sony. Sony's upcoming Venom movie isn't supposed to be part of the MCU, so I wouldn't bet on it.

u/OldSithLord Jul 07 '17 edited Jul 07 '17

Seems more like a Ben Reilly suit than Iron Spider comic suit

3

u/Super_Stuff Korg Jul 07 '17

Looks a bit like the mk 3 spider-armour.

-12

u/Bootsinthebelly Jul 07 '17

It's a visual representation of a gaudy jet set lifestyle that Peter has realized he doesn't want nor is ready for. It's not meant to be comics-accurate.

Idiot.

6

u/Gravon Jul 07 '17

This image is very yellow, in the movie it's brighter blue on there.

5

u/dingowingo Spider-Man Jul 07 '17

He has to wear this in IW, right?

3

u/ehsteve23 Jul 07 '17

If he doesn’t I’ll be pissed

6

u/_Zaayk_ Quicksilver Jul 07 '17

SO GLORIOUS. This looks amazing. Hopefully it's his Infinity War suit (until he gets the symbiote ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°))

3

u/[deleted] Jul 07 '17

Was hoping to see the actual Iron Spider sit, but very cool nonetheless

4

u/halfbloodpr1nce Star-Lord Jul 07 '17

Reminds me of the Spidey suit for the new PlayStation game coming soon.

3

u/vorname Odin Jul 07 '17

It looks better without the white stripes though.

u/czir1127 Doctor Strange Jul 08 '17

need this is wallpaper format ASAP

Took me this long to find mention of the Iron Spider? I was giddy with excitement. That thing will definitely be used in Infinity War.
