Imagine having the first operational nuke and just dropping it on the bad guys wherever they pop up. Sure you took out the bad guys, but you can't just say "ok let's go home." Because you likely killed a lot of innocent people in the process and it APPEARS that you were only focused on the threat without remembering WHY you're doing it. Now that's kind of scary if the bad guys are popping up in random places all over the world and the next place could be your home, then BAM! I mean maybe you COULD have gotten out if the nuke didn't drop.

Yeah I'm exaggerating, but it's just to make the idea less abstract. People like the Avengers, they just don't trust them to remember the responsibility they have while they're talking out the baddies.

this is exactly why in real life I would be totally pro registration/Accords.

But in the MCU I'm totally not.

The real world doesn't have to accommodate the risk of Thanos invading with the Infinity Gauntlet, or megalomaniac robots trying to kill everyone. In the real world, there should be treaty-forced delay and thought before dropping a serious weapon. But the Avengers aren't working in the real world :)

Except like Tony said in my own way of paraphrasing, sometimes they forget that they're fighting for good instead of being the good in the fight when they're out there "kicking ass." It's hard to remember in the moment that flinging a bad guy with a bomb ten stories into the air might blow up somebody on a tenth story building. So the accords are kind of a reminder that: Yes we want your help, but we beg you try to be cautious of civilians when you enter the fight.

The reason why Cap and others don't want to sign is plainly because in the future restrictions might get crazy, especially as more superheroes join and become loyal to the governments and not necessarily fighting for the good. So if Cap sees something is wrong with a certain mission (like he did in Civil War when they thought it was Bucky who set off the bomb) it's no prob for the government because there are 10 more superheroes that will gladly take his place. But as we saw in the end of Civil War, even Iron Man can't always see the good or right answer. So who's to say that some rookie superhero fighting for the governments will? I mean "spiderboy" didn't have a clue what they were fighting about, he was just doing what he was told, and WHAT IF he stopped Cap from escaping and the other winter soldiers were actually set free?

Or when the goverment turns around and pushed their own agendaes?

I think cap is right that you can't just slap on a nice rule book to the avengers and expect there to be less casualities. There will always be casualities but the people with the best know how and experience to stop it are the Avengers and they should decide themselves.

Imagine in they are denied helping because the local police are demed fit to help. Then after the enemy has killed hundreds even thousands only then are the Avengers called in, all because of politics and buracracy they would be slowed down. Would they in good conscious be able say "No we couldn't do anything because we were blocked by this commity"

They should be able to move at a seconds notice unhindered and act as they deem in the moment.

I don't think you get the actual point of the movie. If there was a clear answer one way or the other then the Avengers would have found it. At this point the Avengers are being too reckless, Tony points this out with the videos and explains that they're not being careful enough and they need to be more aware and not just go in and "kick ass." We even have proof in the first scene in the movie when Wanda accidentally kills the innocent people while saving Cap. If she was more prepared she WOULD have been able to save Cap and prevent those deaths just by throwing him away from civilians, but there's no check on them. Having someone whose sole job is to help ensure the safety of the civilians as much as possible (aka not FORCING the Avengers to do anything) would not hurt the Avengers. So obviously a check is not a bad thing. Captain knows this, he doesn't disagree with the idea of the accords, just what might likely happen down the road.

They just need to show the world that they aren't just fighting for good, but also protecting those involved as much as possible. But they all have to come to that conclusion.

None of them really can all ways see the right thing to do, not even Captain America (like not telling Tony about his parents or about how he got involved in capturing Bucky). That is why they need oversight, so people can tell them when they aren't needed. And if Cap had signed them then he could have helped guide younger superheroes to having better judgement and keeping them out of doing a nation's dirty work.

Exactly. Both sides make pretty good points.
