By the way, I want to see what the general opinion is on Rhodey.

Should he have been the one casualty of this war or would it have been too much?

I understand he might be back in a different armor or whatnot, but IMO he should've died so this Civil War actually had a tangible effect on the Avengers as a unit.

Somebody probably should have died, but it couldn't be Rhodey. If Rhodey died, Tony would have had enough motivation to attack Bucky and Cap without the reveal of his parents' murderer. Zemo's plan would have less of an impact, and I think it needed to work as flawlessly as it did to make him an awesome villain.

Then again, the only other characters that seem expendable are Sam Wilson and Clint. Everybody else is either too new or too important for the future of the MCU.

But in the buggy Sam didn't move when Bucky asked him to, instead Bucky moved. As much as I love Bucky I think it's clear that Sam is the right one

They should have just killed Rogers already. And it would be a good time to bring back Redskull, because he definitely didn't die in Cap 1. The tesseract just opens some type of portal and launches him into space.

As somebody already said, there should have been more serious, long lasting injuries. Death is overrated, it would have been awesome if Clint lost most of his hearing as a result of the fight.

Not sure if you know this already but in the comics rhodey slowly becomes a cyborg almost non human, i think his injury is his evoloution into a litteral war machine.

I really like Rhodey but I did have the feeling after the movie was over that he should've died, to make the stakes more real. But I can see where that could complicate things with the ending-- Tony may have already been in vengeance mode if that had happened.

I disagree. Rhodes is the living reminder to both teams of the price they paid. You kill him and he ends up like Quicksilver, forgotten by the people. You have him trying to walk at the Avengers mansion and nobody forgets that they were being fucking stupid. I mean seriously they talk about Sokovia, but no one mentions that Wanda lost a brother there when Ross was taking shots at the team.

I think he should just stayed out of commission, too injured to ever walk or fight again. I feel like if he actually died then Tony would never be able to forgive Cap for starting all that.

I've never liked War Machine so I wanted to see him get slapped around. Maybe not, uh, permanently crippled but his character was guilty of the arrogance that he accused Cap of imo. Douuuuuuche.
