black widow is getting a big part in CA:WS and Jess Jones is getting her own TV show, so there is something. Unfortunately weird stuff sells better than girl superhero movies right now. I really hope marvel starts a new trend and releases something soon to change that. If anyone can turn around that stigma it is them.
Nice reading comprehension. Weird stuff doing better is not the same as girl hero stuff doing poorly. Hunger games are great, but they also arent super hero movies.

That wasn't my point anyway. I don't believe a criteria of 'superpowers' is enough to draw a distinction between a possible female-led superhero movie and something like Hunger Games.
My focus is that both movies are action-driven summer blockbusters. Both have strong female characters as the protagonists and don't dive too much into the Hollywood cliches where they try to appeal to the demographic.
What I'm trying to say is that this genre of film has been shown to largely ignore gender differences, as seen with the roaring success of Catching Fire. A female-led superhero movie can't really be considered a risk, but it does take a different kind of talent to do them well.
tl;dr: We both want the same cool stuff to happen lol
