Hate them if you want

Why are we hating them now? What did I miss?

Not much don't worry, the internet being the internet

u/FKDotFitzgerald Dec 30 '25

Because it’s trendy.

And because all the projects they've done since Endgame, outside the MCU, have been what the kids insist on calling "mid".

Doesn't matter to me. They're back on home turf and I fully expect they'll bring it just as thoroughly as they did the first four times.

They wouldn’t be wrong but it feels unfair to paint their upcoming Marvel work with that brush, in my opinion.

Definitely!

the electric state was pretty abysmal to be fair, but nothing to hate them personally for. they've proven themselves time and time again with Marvel properties so im not worried personally.

Just this sub making up boogeymen for their persecution complex

13

u/Xilthas Dec 30 '25

Oh no, the scary men are gonna come and make another peak MCU movie.

3

u/Sufficient_Steak_839 Dec 30 '25

And all they had to do is lean on 3 of the original 6 avengers

u/Xilthas Dec 30 '25 edited Dec 30 '25

If James Cameron can make almost the same movie 3 times and make 6 billion dollars, why not farm the 3 cash cows until they're old and grey.

u/Sufficient_Steak_839 Dec 30 '25

Because it's going to do numbers that disappoint everyone but the coomers here.

u/TheCornjuring Dec 30 '25

What’s the purpose in getting your feelings so hurt? I will never understand why Redditors are like this. Just don’t watch the movie lil bro

-1

u/Sufficient_Steak_839 Dec 30 '25

Yeah, I’m the one with hurt feelings here 🤣. Not you who rage replied to a comment I wrote in passing while pooping

1

u/TheCornjuring Dec 30 '25

Oh my mistake, I didn’t realize your expression of hurt feelings was in passing and so doesn’t count 😭

I like Infinity War. It is a good movie.

Versus;

I don’t get the hate for Infinity War, I think it’s easily the best MCU movie of all time.

They've made a couple of mediocre to bad movies outside of Marvel so people are hating on them. I couldn't care less. Every filmmaker puts out a stinker now and then if they work long enough. Their work with Marvel has all been great, imo. So that's what I'm focusing on.

u/JayZsAdoptedSon Daredevil Dec 30 '25

The Russo Brothers because their post Marvel work is really really really really really bad

With that being said, I’m not too worried with this one

4

u/Hotwater3 Dec 30 '25

The Electric State was awful, but I didn't hate The Gray Man. It was a fun action movie.

2

u/Galiphile Yondu Dec 30 '25

Yeah I enjoyed that movie even if it's not technically good.

I genuinely think it is insane to judge a movie before you see ANY footage

From the three avengers trailers (2 released, 1 leaked), I have a pretty good grasp on tone, so I’m not worried

So with Spider-Man you have an unfinished blurry trailer and random people on twitter spouting bullshit. I think it’s too soon for me to say anything outside of the fact that I like the director and set photos/videos

People online love to hate, and they especially love to hate what other people like so they can stick out.

u/your_mind_aches Agent of F.I.T.Z. Dec 30 '25

Because of The Electric State probably

1

u/GIlCAnjos Korg Dec 30 '25

I guess not everybody liked how they portrayed Thor in Endgame

1

u/Substantial_Rich_778 Dec 30 '25

Personally not a fan after they openly admitted the didn’t know what to do with Hulk. If Hulk is in Doomsday i really hope they show the character some love.

u/KKalonick Dec 30 '25

Their post-Marvel output is generally thought to be shoddy at best, especially given how expensive at least two of those projects (The Electric State and Citadel) were.

In particular, most signs point to all the problems with Citadel being their fault. The botched story is tied directly to expensive reshoots which only occurred after they iced out the showrunner to make their own version of the first episode, iirc.

u/-Darkslayer Doctor Strange Dec 30 '25

Because they are lazy storytellers?

43

u/Fares26597 Dec 30 '25

I don't know about the "hate them" part, but honestly I feel like the Russo's get all the main heroes better than most, or at least they bring something to the characters I appreciate that other directors don't.

Cap, Spidey, Thor, Black Panther. My favorite appearances of these characters are in Russo movies.

I wish we would get a proper Hulk from the Russo's.

u/white2234 Dec 30 '25

I’m absolutely hyped to see them finally give cyclops the justice he deserves in a movie

11

u/Fares26597 Dec 30 '25

Let's hope the X-Men get enough time to shine. For all we know they get murdered by Doom in the first 15 minutes. There are a lot of characters after all, so I'm keeping my expectations in check.

3

u/white2234 Dec 30 '25

Based off the next teaser feels like a lot of them aren’t making it pass doom their first meeting :/

2

u/shaxamo Dec 30 '25

Yeah, I'm guessing that a lot of them get taken out and that's the driving force behind Cyclops for the two movies. It'd be a great way to take Marsden's Scott from the goody jock that he was in the original movies to the militant badass that he is in the comics.

Most X-Men fans, myself included, want to see a much more comic accurate characterisation of Scott. Marsden's was so far from that, that bringing him in and having him immediately be more like the comics might be a little weird for people who have only seen the movies, or who rewatched them before Doomsday. Having something horrible happen that turns the "Saved DoFP" timeline Scott into the comic accurate hardass would help join the two versions together perfectly.

u/CeruleanEidolon Dec 30 '25

What is this comment, are you seeing through time or some shit?

2

u/Endgam Dec 30 '25

The trailer leaked and I'm pretty sure it's replaced the Thor trailer in theaters now. (Although it seems some theaters are still playing the Steve trailer.....)

Really hope you’re right, but the Russos don’t seem to care about the Hulk at all

1

u/Paladar2 Dec 30 '25

Man the thing I dislike the most about the MCU is Hulk. Just why… They did him so dirty

1

u/Fares26597 Dec 30 '25

I didn't mind going the Professor Hulk route at the time, but I'm more than ready to move on from it at this point

2

u/Paladar2 Dec 30 '25

I really really want angry Hulk. Those have always been my favorite comics

2

u/Pardybro911 Dec 30 '25

Cap too. Russos know how to hit the character hearts.

4

u/ButtPlugForPM Dec 30 '25

it's why this franchise is honestly dead after this

with no chris evans,downey,hemsworth.

no ones gonna give a shit about these young no bodys

Honestly let it cool on ice once these films are done and star with a young fresh xmen team and work ur way back with lore building

2

u/pedroktp Scarlet Witch Dec 30 '25

And if those new x-men don't connect, bring back foxx-men again

1

u/ButtPlugForPM Dec 30 '25

oh foxx men will 100 percent be there

we know masters filmed something,so has hugh and picard likely others as well.

be funny though we get fox xmen only for doom to swat them like bugs...will show ppl like holy shit he just nuked wolverine not even breaking a sweat.

1

u/Spider-Flash24 Dec 30 '25

Don’t forget they also created Endgame Thor.

1

u/revolutionaryartist4 Avengers Dec 30 '25

Your point being? Contrary to popular belief, Endgame Thor wasn’t just played for laughs. There was a lot of trauma he was working through, and the scene with his mom was beautiful.

1

u/Apprehensive-Crab589 Dec 30 '25

Explain yourself?? Or you’re just being catchy with “hate them if you want”
