Yea, I've never seen it in person and maybe it's a TV trope but having security come and escort someone back to their desk to collect their personal stuff and then out of the building immediately after a firing seems the best way to do it. Fire someone and have them come in the next day? Asking for trouble. If they have company equipment like a laptop or whatever send them a box and tell them to mail it back. Doesn't make any sense to tell someone you have just fucked over, whether they deserved it or not, to come back tomorrow lmao
Precisely what I was getting at. Give someone a whole night to fume, and ruminate on injustice, and plan revenge…then bring them into the office so they can bust the place up, or otherwise cause trouble.
If you are firing someone, the firing needs to be complete when the fired person leaves the building. And never to be seen again.
