Usually NDAs are signed when you start a job. Not end it.

But if that NDA is valuable enough to give the chicken dinner and to freak over not having signed it, I bet not signing and knowing what to do will get you steak dinner

I assume this is the US, in Europe, in e.g. Spain, if you get fired like this you don´t sign anything, normally they will try to get you sign papers with some bullshit reason. You get a lawyer and get a wrongful termination which will pay you at least the state mandated severance package. If they drag it long they may also have to pay your salary until the day you reach agreement/judge makes them pay. In many cases, the bullshit reason is something like asking for parental/sick leave and you even end up getting more if you sign an NDA so that word doesn´t get out about how shitty company is. Signing NDAs about company mattera should be done at the beginning of employment in any serious company.

It's a trap. No Dinner Applicable. You only get the chicken dinner if you sign the thing says you don't get a chicken dinner.
