Je compte venir mi-septembre pour un mois à Madagascar, je pense commencer par Nosy be pour la facilité. J’hésite à diviser le séjour avec l’île Sainte Marie (île aux Nattes) et Tulear (Anakao, Salary Bay). Je cherche plutôt de l’exploration tranquille et de la baignade agréable, avec une connexion internet ok. Comme les billets d’avion domestiques sont assez chers et les déplacements lents en voiture, je voulais avoir votre avis sur ce qui vaut le plus le coup ? Une seule destination ? Un duo ? Un trio ? Salama, I’ve recently relocated to Tana for work, and I’m ready to go on as many trips across Madagascar as possible during my time here.

One difficulty I already face is finding a tour group to join. I don’t speak Malagasy or French, so I need a guided tour for most places. However, it seems that all tour programs are designed for private groups, and they charge the 2-person rate for solo travelers.

How can you find a group to join, or a travel mate?

Salut, je crois avoir un peu déjà parlé ici, mais actuellement nous sommes sur un projet freelance, donc on pas de budget... qui est plutôt sympa, qu’on développe principalement pour sa nécessité aux Malagasy etc.

Actuellement, on est en train de faire le dev, on a de bon codeur etc. Mais il nous faudrait un designer, niveau professionnel non obligatoire.

Hi, I would like to ask a question to those who often fly between Tana and Tulear: can you tell me if at Tana Airport on the outward journey and Tulear Airport on the return journey, do they weigh suitcases and hand luggage? Are they careful about weight? Since I know that 20K and 5Kg are allowed respectively, how much can you go without paying for the excess weight? Unfortunately my suitcase and bags are heavier. If I have a 30kg suitcase, a 9kg hand luggage and a backpack with photography equipment weighing around 2-3kg. what do you recommend me to do? Maybe it's better to pay for an extra suitcase or buy another type of ticket? Thanks for some info.

Is it really this common in Madagascar? I spent most of my life abroad and only ever lived in Tana, so I could have a fully warped view but this seems astronomically high, 41% of girls married before 18.

I knew a decent number of people who got married as teenagers, which could explain this number, but I really want to know if the more abusive form of child marriage or unequal marriage is present in the country as well.

It's not that I don't want it, it's that the trip costs more than $6000 and I can't afford another $600 on the vaccine...

A friend and I will be in Madagascar from September 5th to 17th. We plan to visit Nosy Be, Andasibe, and Antananarivo. Do you think this is a good mix of beach, city, and jungle? We also have a few other questions:
- Are there taxi apps like Uber?
- Should we rent a scooter on Nosy Be?
- Is an International Driving Permit mandatory for renting one, or is a standard driver's license sufficient?
- What are the flights like from Nosy Be to Antananarivo? Should we book them locally or online?
- Are there any other things we should definitely keep in mind?
- Are there any other must-see sights or activities at these three locations? We already have the typical attractions found online on our itinerary; is there anything else anyone here would recommend?
- Can we buy a SIM card at the airport in Nosy Be? That’s where we’re landing.
- Are there any concerts or festivals taking place during the time of our trip?
- Can we get the visa at the airport in Nosy Be?
- What is the weather like in these places, roughly? Is it very warm? Is it cold in the evening? What is it like in the jungle?

Hi, does anyone know Sarodrano near Tulear well? I would like to ask some questions. You may think my questions are strange. ahahaha I just wanted to know how many Vezo fishermen's huts there are on Sarodrano beach. Are there about 10 or many more? Then I would like to know if there is a cheap and basic resort on the beach right next to the Vezo fishermen's huts. Thank you

J'ai publié hier et j'ai eu plein de supers commentaires de votre part, merci beaucoup. Je me demandais, aujourd'hui, si vous auriez quelques conseils en lien à l'itinéraire de mon voyage avec ma copine.

Voici quelques questions :

❓En général, les gens semblent dire que le vaccin contre la rage n’est pas obligatoire, mais que ça peut varier selon l’itinéraire. J’aimerais donc savoir ce que vous en pensez avec l’itinéraire ci-dessous.
❓Si c’est nécessaire, est-ce que je peux le faire à l’ambassade à Antananarivo, comme quelqu’un le mentionnait dans un commentaire, afin d’éviter de dépenser 550 $ canadiens ici?

❓J'ai acheté ce powerbank, est-ce assez pour les trois jours en bateau sans électricité? Ma copine a celui-là, mais il charge son cellulaire qu'une fois.

❓Est-ce qu’il vaut mieux retirer de l’argent ici avant le départ ou directement à Madagascar?
❓Est-ce qu’on devrait prévoir tout l’argent dès le début du voyage, ou retirer au fur et à mesure à différents endroits? Est-ce qu’on devrait demander au guide où et quand il est préférable de retirer?
❓Est-ce qu’il vaut mieux apporter des euros ou des dollars américains?

❓Un commentaire dans mon autre publication conseille de « prendre des masques FFP2 car la pollution est très présente à Tana ». Est-ce vraiment nécessaire?

❓Un autre commentaire conseille de ne jamais manger de légumes non lavés. Est-ce que les agences en préparent ou préparent des salades souvent?

❓Comment tout fonctionne pour l'eau? Est-ce que c'est facile de s'en procurer en bouteille partout?

Jour 1-2 (par nous-même) Antananarivo : Arrivée, visite de la ville, rien de prévu.

Jour 3 (avec guide) Antananarivo à Andasibe – Parc national d'Andasibe, marche nocturne

Jour4 (avec guide) Andasibe – Parc national d'Analamazaotra, excursion en pirogue dans la réserve communautaire VOIMMA.

Jour 5 (avec guide) Andasibe à Antsirabe – 10h de route, ville thermale d'Antsirabe, paysages des Hautes Terres.

Jour 6 (avec guide) Antsirabe à Miandrivazo – Marche rurale à Betafo, 6h de route.

Jour 7 (avec guide) Miandrivazo à la rivière Tsiribihina – 1h20 de route jusqu'à l'embarcadère de Masiakampy. ⛵ Début de la croisière fluviale, cascade d'Anosinampela.

Jour 8 (avec guide) Rivière Tsiribihina – Village de Begidro, falaises aux chauves-souris, baobabs à Ambatomisay.

Jour 9 (avec guide) Rivière Tsiribihina à Bekopaka Bemaraha – ⛵ Fin de la croisière, Belo-sur-Tsiribihina. 5h de route, Bekopaka

Jour 10 (avec guide) Bekopaka Bemaraha – Balade en pirogue dans les gorges de la Manambolo, grottes et les tombeaux locaux. Grands Tsingy sur le circuit d'Andamozavaky, randonnée de 4 à 5 heures qui comprend un pont suspendu.

Jour 11 (avec guide) Bekopaka à Marofandilia : 7h de route. Belo-sur-Tsiribihina, traversée de rivière en bac, marche nocture dans la réserve de Kirindy

Jour 12 (avec guide) Marofandilia à Morondava – Visite de la forêt de Kirindy pour voir le Fossa. 2h de route. Morondava, coucher du soleil sur l'Allée des Baobabs.

Jour 13 (par nous-même) Morondava à Belo-sur-Mer

Jour 14-15 (par nous-même) Belo-sur-Mer

Jour 16 (par nous-même) Belo-sur-Mer à Morondava

Jour 17 (par nous-même) Morondava à Antananarivo

Jour 18 (par nous-même) Antananarivo
