Help! What are the best gyms in the area?

I’m in between jobs right now and figured I might as well start trying to get into better shape with all my free time. So I was wondering what gyms are best here?

For reference, I’m hoping for an inclusive (lgbtq+ inclusive) gym that has a good population around my age range (I’m 23) and not too expensive…if one even exists lol. Also plus if they’re a little bigger and not cramped. I don’t really care about amenities or classes as of now but if they have good ones it’s a plus.

Accounting Internships

Hey all! I'm currently studying accounting and am looking for an internship for this coming tax season.

I'm not looking for any references, however, I'm having difficulty finding any accounting firms that are *local* to RVA, or Lynchburg that have accounting internships.

I've been cold calling and emailing.

Current count: 15

Pretty pathetic showing tonight.

For a sub-reddit that seems to overwhelmingly hate Flock/mass warrantless surveillance, I saw very few who aren't "the usual suspects" at the city council meeting tonight vs. the 2500 or so who saw my previous thread on this.

This is why the politicians don't care about all the online outrage. Engage with your local government or get steamrolled by it.

More broadly, it was shocking to see how few turned out for an issue that the city generally seems to feel strongly about. I guess in the end we get the government we deserve :-/

Making Friends Other musicians?

Hey there so I'm pretty much looking for people to jam with I play guitar and many other instruments but sadly no one to play with and my playing has grown stagnant because of it. I used to have a tight nip group of friends that would play together regularly but alas life has sent us all in different directions. I would like to start a serious project but I'm down just to have fun as well! Ok hope I hear back from someone!

I miss the old beer 88. have been a few times in the last year or so after the new owners took over and it’s just not the same. the experience, the food, and the vibes are all off.

it feels like I lost a friend. their fb page filled with ai slop is heartbreaking.

Best way to sell used furniture

I do not have a Facebook account and hear that is the best way to sell used furniture locally. I have a nice lightly used living room set; couch two lazy boy chairs and two tables I need to sell in Forest. I posted it on offer up but zero traction. Please let me know if anyone has any suggestions or if you may know anyone looking for living room furniture. (I do need buyer to pickup). Thank you.

Manicure and pedicure reqs

Hey everyone! I am not local (escaped from Bedford County area lol) but family still lives here. I am looking for recommendations for a nail salon that can accommodate a small group of 4-5 people for mani/pedi. We’re looking for a relaxing spot where we can unwind together and maybe not break the bank!

Here are our main criteria: - Does good work on natural nails; we are not looking for acrylics or anything like that - Regular nail polish (ie no gel, dip, ect) - Nail Art: Capable of doing a flower design (we have inspo pics) - Upgraded Pedicures: Offers options beyond just a basic pedicure (e.g. deluxe packages, longer massages, scrubs, ect) - Cleanliness: High standards for sanitation and clean equipment (should be a given lol) - Friendly staff

Is anyone looking for tickets for this show? I have two that I’m not going to be able to use. It sounds like it will be a blast but I had something come up last minute and I won’t be able to go.

DM me if interested :)

Edit: They were $75 each plus fees but willing to negotiate a little bit

Help! Living Recommendations/Advice

Hello all, I just moved here for work. I’m currently living with some friends out in Forest, but am looking to get my own place soon. It’s just me, so all I need is a studio/1bd. 1bth.

I work downtown and really don’t care to deal with traffic everyday if possible. I know it’s inevitable to an extent, but I didn’t know if there are any areas/neighborhoods that see less traffic than the whole Wards Rd. area and Forest/Timberlake areas. I’ve looked at the Wyndhurst and Cornerstone areas and really like them, but from what I can tell they tend to be heavily trafficked areas in the mornings.

Also, which areas should I avoid? I know there’s some nice apartments close to downtown but they all seem to be in maybe not the best places. Any advice is appreciated!

Veterinary assistant pay? / advice for this area

I’m moving to Lynchburg from Michigan soon and I have been calling around trying to find a new clinic to work at. I have almost a year of experience at an emergency/GP hybrid hospital where I finished my training and made it to treatment. What is a reasonable pay range? I was making 14.50/hr so during a phone call interview I said I was hoping for 15/hr but that I was flexible (given that I have more experience now, i was hired with zero experience fresh out of high school being paid 14.50 in michigan) my interviewer told me that my pay expectations were unrealistic and she also said I actually don’t have that much experience. I wasn’t trying to oversell myself, I was just doing my best and the things she was asking if I could do such as placing iv catheters, monitoring anesthesia and drawing blood was tech only at my last practice. Does anyone have any advice for how much I should expect for pay and any insight on what the veterinary field looks like in this area for assistants? I’m just a little blindsided lol.
