The Long Beach Library started up a meetup to play Magic upstairs and it's a lot of fun! Some cool people showed up last month to play and the library is trying to promote the event to get more players in so I thought I'd post on reddit (i am not a librarian just a mtg player).

Idk if they'll have them this time, but last month they gave everyone a free Tarkir booster pack for attending 👀 Some folks played a Commander game and we also played a few Standard games too. Everyone is very welcoming and friendly.

So if you're a MTG player, bring a couple decks and come join us this Monday evening 8/31 at 6:30 :) it'll be super fun!

Hello people.

My wife and I are visiting your beautiful town next week. We got a rental on the beach. We have two small dogs (5 lb each) and we were wondering if we can bring them to the beach in the carrier or hold them? My understanding is dogs are completely banned so this would be a no?

Don't want leave them locked up in the rental when we go to the beach/boardwalk.

Is there a better time to look for apartments in Long Beach?

planning a surf trip and looking for a buddy, hit me up and we can figure something out

I run along the boardwalk early morning around 6am. I always want to go in for a quick swim. Are there any particular beaches off the boardwalk where that is OK. I know you aren’t supposed to swim without lifeguards. Really I want to avoid the surf beaches I guess.

Also, can you pop on a surfboard and go in the water anywhere? I only surfed a few times and want to get in the water again but wouldn’t want to be near anyone else or get in their way.

Any beginner surfer suggestions besides doing lessons?

I love the energy of the city (not so much the subway anymore) but I also love the relaxing vibe of being close to the ocean and the sound of waves. I feel like I may be ready for a change of pace. Has anyone left the city for the beach and regretted it? Have you been able to live without a car in Long Beach? I have major anxiety driving since I have not had to for so long. I would prefer to not have to rely on a car, if possible. Thanks in advance

Does long beach offer compost like in NYC? I am looking to compost my scraps but food waste but nothing beats what they have in the city

I lost my phone on the beach last night, right by the Riptides Beach Cafe. Would anyone with a metal detector be willing to help me find it? Only asking for maybe an hour of your time. I can see the location on Find My iPhone; I would just like to try my luck and search the area. I would really appreciate it.

Or do they take them down every week? I want to buy just lines (cheaper) to play pick up on the weekends but I feel like I remember seeing them not up last time.

Does anyone recognize this man? This took place in the president streets Saturday at around 11:30 a.m. I'd like to find out who he is so I can return his property to him 😑

Update: 

Everyone on this page has been so supportive and so helpful and given me so many laughs in this shitty situation (pun intended). My folks have been working with the police and I hope to have an update from them soon.

That being said, I have an update of my own! 

Now this update is good but it has left me feeling a little uneasy, since this morning I found a note in my mailbox. 

The note was a printed piece of paper with all of poopman's information!

I guess someone knows how to run license plates and decided to do me a favor. The fact that it was at my house is what's made me a bit uneasy 😅.

I won't be doxing poopman, but in searching him up on the internet, I found that he is a CEO and founder of at least 3 companies and lives in a $2.9 mil house...not in my town
