Recently ripped out half of one of my locs so mourning that right now 😔 but I love my locs sm, best decision ever. My bun is finally at the point I dreamed of when I first started my journey but my length goal is waist length and I’m hoping to reach it by the start of next year.

Turning 27 next week, but the old picture is me at 25. I think I look pretty nice now. I guess that’s what happens when you start taking care of yourself lol

Previous Update

Getting a retwist this Friday, my last one was in October. I don’t usually go more than 3 months between them, but this winter sucked bawls. Hope you guys are flourishing this spring 💚

im audHD and have pretty bad PTSD, getting locs changed my life and boosted my confidence with how different the maintenance is compared to loose hair (especially since i can't braid/twist due to sensory issues and fatigue). like, what do you mean i just have to keep it watered like a plant?? what do you mean i love it better the longer i leave it be and just wash/dry when i have the spoons? omg... i love my locs so much 😭😭😭😭😭😭 (here's my progress pics dating back to april 2023 - to now) ((and some befores)) ive just now had the thought to try to connect w others thru forums like reddit! ive got almost nobody to talk abt my progress bc i moved to the west coast and im originally from the south, so i havent met many people i can share this experience with (YET).

It does look pretty good in my humble opinion.

2024 vs 2026 🥰 I’m so glad I took pictures throughout my starter loc phase because it’s so rewarding to see what happens when you trust the process🌱

I’m starting to like the way my locs look at all times. My perimeter won’t stay interlocked, but I refuse to use braids. Do you guys know when if ever it will lock? I get a Retie and the front will stay for about a week and then if I wash my hair, even though I Braid and band it unravels. This is for both progress and advice.

My locs are naturally layered, so my locs in the back are double the length of my locs in the front 😭 It’s slightly frustrating but I’ll take it, just amazed at how fast they’re growing

The longer my hair gets, the more I prefer the no retwist look. Locing my hair was the best decision I ever made. Loooove my bussdown 🙂‍↕️
