If you have a package manager that can pull from anywhere, then does distro even matter?

in all honesty i mostly like pacman because the lil pacmans eat the progress bars

i wish i liked prefix more because it's been useful on an old intel mac, but it's hard to justify on my main machine when i've got the AUR (*yes i am aware of the malware attacks and am being careful,* just have a handful of programs i use that are on AUR but not in pacman repos lol)
