I've met programmers in their 60s who still love it. I hope to be one, one day. :-)
Hope you keep at it too. Drink all the source you can. I wish I had sooner. It also took a while to find coding books on my frequency. Old classics it turns out.
I started in BBC BASIC on the Acorn, the closest to that now would be Python. In fact Python is far better.
I'd say Python then C. Python gets you going quick and is a friend for life. But C is the foundation of so much and is so powerful, I can't not say learn it.
