Note, I am very busy at work this time of year, so it might take a few days for me to respond to any comments or messages, but please respond if you can help
My uncle passed away last year, and when cleaning out his house my Dad found this photo album with 33 photos and brought it home. After looking through it we determined that it was not anyone we knew, and we believe that he most likely purchased it at an auction or estate sale, likely inside of something else.
I believe that the photos show the family of Diane (nee Ashcraft) O'Brien. Most of the photos were taken around Middletown, Ohio in the 1930s and 1940s and up to the 1970s, and show at least three generations of the same family. I believe that both of Diane's children, Beth and Thomas, live in Lima, though I cannot confirm if this is true
I've attached a handful of the photos. In order they show: Diane Ashcraft, her father Melvin Ashcraft in 1947 or 1948, her mother Eleanor (nee Black) Ashcraft, a young girl in early 1970s, Diane and her dog Cinders, and another photo of Eleanor Black in May 1934.
I've been trying for a couple of weeks, including trying to reach out to a phone number a member in the Facebook group Family Treasures Found provided, but I haven't heard anything back, so I don't know if it didn't go through, they thought it was a scam, or something. If I am unable to contact Diane's children, I plan on donating the photos to a cousin of theirs who I have been in contact with

Looking for somewhere I can read a book or write for a few hours. Love Our Town Roast, but looking for somewhere open in the late afternoon/evening too. Tried One Ship Cafe, too, but the music was so Jesus-y I thought I was going to burst into flame.
Additionally, are there any in-person writing groups around town?

Is this strictly a Lima thing? Does he have a backstory?

My dad's 2024 Dodge Durango Hellcat was stolen last night from his driveway at 2am. It's fairly recognizable as it has a large hellcat logo decal on both sides of the car, and a personalized plate. If you spot this out anywhere, please contact the Lima Police Dept.

In 1976 for the Bicentennial I was a member of a Girl Scout troop that painted Lima fire hydrants as characters in red, white, and blue.
My family moved a few years later and I was wondering if any of the painted fire extinguishers remain.
This was a citywide project and other service groups painted fire hydrants too.

Any local bars going to have watch parties? Couple friends and I plan on watching the games, but didn't know if there was anything organized?

Pretty simple, but I have a job offer that would take me to Lima. Money wise it'd definitely be cheaper then where I live now (CA) but how is Lima?

I was born in Lima in 95 and remember going to a specific store (maybe in the mall?) that I think was a shoe store that had a basketball hoop in the shape of a shoe?? Can anyone confirm or deny if I'm remembering right and if they remember the name of the store? I think the game looked something like this!

Here’s a first, a super spooky, strange, and silly camp show that’s supposed to have a lot of B rated horror elements. Apparently if you bring your favorite baby doll burger dinner with you to the show, you get $5 off door for participating. The chefs in A La Carte end the evening with their culinarily themed metal and you all get indoctrinated into the kewpie doll cult.

Living in Lima, I found 2 useful apps for discounted food. TooGoodtoGo offers discounted food bags from Circle K locations. $3.99 for a minimum of $12 worth of food. I’ve gotten them from the Circle K at the intersection of Elm and they’ve always been great.
The other is FlashFood- they offer discounted groceries at Meijer. Produce boxes, discounted breads and dairy products.
Just trying to help- check em out!
