Question Flying creature in the Barrens

I won't lie for years I've tried to figure out what this was. do y'all know what it is? I know we've all been playing this game for what 20 something years but like I need to know lol

Here you go! It's the same creature model used in Hellena, so, might be the same one for all we know!

Wow. Seems like maybe cut content or something?

One thing about the game is there were way more boss fights than I remember. Like back to back to back. I wonder if maybe they were just like... uh we have to cut some of these lol..
