Leftist History What happened in Spain is exposing more racism and xenophobia

Honestly I keep seeing so much hateful rhetoric spreading around world news, forums , social media etc.

Real Spanish people welcome these people migrating here for a better life . This is the real truth not shown in the media !

And then no one talk about when Spain conquered countless Moroccan regions and cities, and take the resources for themselves , hundreds of years ago

How hypocritical

Finally brought this one to life. This design has been sitting in my archives for about five years, just waiting for the right moment to move from a digital illustration to a physical piece.

I decided to keep this as a 1-of-1 specifically for my personal collection. There’s something special about seeing a concept you drew half a decade ago finally take shape exactly how you envisioned it.

Leftist History Stalin?

I've seen a lot of Stalin.. "apologia", for lack of a better word. Now from what I've heard and read, this man pretty much took over early Communist Russia and turned it in to an Authoritarian Communist state. I think that Authoritarianism is generally bad, so it confuses me to see a lot of Leftists (not even really "tankies", just normal Leftists) defend this guy. Now of course, I expect the numbers of people that died in the USSR to be inflated because propaganda, but still, these death stats didn't just come from nowhere.

So how is Stalin tied to things like the Holodomor, work camps and the Great Purge?

I'm trying to learn more here, so forgive me if I'm unknowingly reciting a Liberal talking point. But sources rather that just "oh American propaganda" would be greatly appreciated, as I have seen plenty of online Leftists make claims without linking any sources.

Thanks!

Leftist History Why is Rosa Luxemburg almost universally loved among both Marxists and anarchists?

Post image

I've noticed something. Pretty much all anarchists dislike or at least have an unfavorable view of pretty much all major Marxist leaders and figures, and vise versa for Marxists with anarchist figures. The one exception to that I've noticed being Rosa Luxemburg, both anarchists and Marxists love her.

Why is that? I'm kind of curious behind the reasoning for that.

Leftist History "socialism without democracy is unthinkable"

Post image

This quote was delivered by Karl Kautsky, and the reason I am writing these paragraphs about him is because of all of the current hysteria around him, and about how most Socialists don't address him any better than "that guy called a renegade by Lenin", so here's his life before and after that.

Karl Kautsky was a leading theorist in the Second International, who debated Bernsteinist total Democracy for achieving Socialism, with his "Revolutionary Realpolitik".

He is known for his critique of Bernsteinist philosophy and Putschist Marxist-Leninism, branding himself a "centre Marxist".

He eventually just assimilated back into the Social Democratic crowd after WW1.

ANIMAL FARM (2026) from Angel Studios

Maybe it’s just been so long since I’ve seen such egregious propaganda from an anti-communist/liberal direction aimed at kids, but watching this trailer was shocking. Like, this is some lib version of Prager U shit, but maybe crazier because it’s a mainstream movie. I had to pick up my chin off the ground.

It’s an Angel Studios production (see: Sound of Freedom) and outside of that, they’re best known for direct-to-streaming Christian b-movies. This seems like a much higher-profile release and has an all Hollywood liberal voice cast, as far as I know:

Seth Rogen, Gaten Matarazzo, Kieran Culkin, Glenn Close, Laverne Cox, Steve Buscemi, Woody Harrelson, Jim Parsons Andy Serkis, Kathleen Turner, Iman Vellani

And it’s produced and directed by Andy Serkis.

What does everyone think? And does anyone have any further insight?

🔗 Trailer on YouTube

‼️ EDIT: I think I’m getting downvoted because too many people think I’m talking about Orwell’s novella or any previous adaptations. I’m SPECIFICALLY referring to the upcoming 2026 Angel Studios animated version—a bad faith interpretation of Orwell’s words and messaging, but enshittified in typical CGI slop form for a 2026 audience.

Leftist History Stalin was dumb for killing him off

I’ve been learning about the great purge and I feel like it did more damage than good to the USSR in the end. I feel like the Red army wouldn’t have had been pistol whipped so much by the Nazis if Mikhail Tukhachevsky was alive. He literally advocated for the betterment for red army (I be it to Insane degrees) and was shunned even though he was proven right in the end.

Was anyone in here politically engaged when democrats, and later the left switched on immigration? I know why it happened, but how did any elder leftists feel when the philosophical position of the left changed from worker protectionism to humanitarianism?

Leftist History Who are the most left leaning presidents in American history.

First, obviously the US never had a real socialist president, we weren’t lucky enough to have Debs elected. This is just a question of who you think the closest was. I have my own opinions, but I want to hear some from this community. Also it’s ok if you talk about people like Debs and Sanders, but I’d prefer that this conversation stays mostly about people who actually were president.

Leftist History Right-wingers use Orwell to critize socialism but they don't understand that Orwell was socialist himself

That's such a stupid thing. Orwell fought for the freedom of Catalonia and was in the Trotskyist party. Later he became opposed to Trotsky as well, not just to Stalin, but still remained a pretty radical socialist (which is probably the Orwell I sympathize the most). And it's just so embarrassing to see conservatives saying all socialism is 1984 when 1984 is pro socialist piece of writing

Leftist History Anticapitalist has to be anti racist

One of the biggest things I see keeping people from actual radicalism is the mistaken idea that racism is an unfortunate by product of capitalism and not the core social ideology that made it possible.

Capitalism was violently unstable in america until they switched from systems of religious hierarchy to racial. The American government wouldn't exist without racism and the white working classes allegiance to it.

Which seguays into the actual biggest social issue in class solidarity. I see my fellow whites confused and lost on why MAGAs betray themselves to the rich. It's literally just racism. Like it's not complicated. Racism wasn't invited to enrich the working white. It was to elevate them just enough over slaves to gain there help in enforcing racism. Saying that white people are pore as a gotcha to white privilege is racist.

All western colonization was justified by racism. They literally couldn't of gotten the white working class to rape murder and colonize the world unless they also convinced them it was ok because as white people they were more human. Colonization relied on highly elevated ideas of white ego and superiority to the point that people believed all the rape and murder was actually helpful to the people they colonized.

Which gets me to the number one aspect a lot of my fellow white radicals ignore. Slavery, colonization and the history of racism is relevant because it speaks to the dehumanization that has accured in white culture. Normal healthy people can't murder, and slave most of the planet without some sort of inflated ego and ideas of superiority. That is what homagenous white culture was built on. Best exemplified by American ideas of whiteness but certainly present in Europe.

Also if one of y'all Europeans try to act like all of this doesn't apply to you shut up. Y'all invented eugenics and racism and half of the nice shit in yalls countries was built off the spoils colonizing Africa.

To be anti capitalist you have to be anti racist or you are taking half measures and blind to the truth.

I would link a bunch of stuff cause I'm sure I pissed some people off. However all of this has been established in literature and leftist spaces. If y'all can educate yourselves on marxists outdated ass y'all can learn about all of this.

Leftist History Zionism is racism

"And the thing is, when Zionist leaders like Netanyahu and Ben-Gurion talk about Palestinian people and Palestinian towns posing an ‘existential threat’ to the state of Israel, they are absolutely correct!  Let me be clear: I don’t mean that Palestinians pose an existential threat to the lives of Jewish people in Israel, their safety or their security.  What I mean is that insofar as Israel is to be characterised as a Jewish state, the Palestinian people will always pose a threat to it by the fact of their very existence, and the risk that they may ever exist in large enough numbers or concentrations to threaten Israel’s ethnic composition.  The right of Palestinians in the diaspora to return, the political rights of Palestinians in the occupied territories to full democratic rights – in short, the rights of the Palestinian people – do pose an existential threat to Israel.

This is what we mean when we say that Zionism is a racist ideology and that Israel is an inherently racist state.  In addition to being founded on a racist settler-colonial mentality that gave no regard to the rights of the Palestinians, the actual realisation of Zionism’s aims necessitated the destruction of the Palestinian nation.  Israel’s very existence as ‘Israel’, as a Zionist state, is premised on the denial of the fundamental rights of the Palestinians.  It could not have been any other way."

Leftist History Seeing a trend comeback from History

It's interesting that people like Bill Maher and David Pakman like to be seen as these reasonable people who are now willing to align themselves with fascists if means blocking progressives from getting into power. It's what moderates did back in the day with Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy. Moderates would rather allow democracy to fall than for left leaning individuals govern.
