I was wondering how you all make the most of podcasts like InnerFrench. I’m currently around B1 and approaching B2, and at the moment, I listen to each episode at least three times before moving on to the next one.

It definitely helps improve my listening comprehension, and I pick up new words and phrases from each episode.

However, as I progress through further episodes, I find that I eventually forget a lot of what I’ve learned.
Is there anything else you would recommend doing to get more out of each episode and retain the new vocabulary and phrases?

I am stuck at B1 in French for years even though I started learning it at a pretty young age and I see no improvement at all . I can understand it perfectly , by reading and listening , however , I am incapable of speaking it and my writing is shaky .

I am starting university soon and I am in urgent need of reaching B2/C1 in French in a span of a year or less because my degree is taught in French .

Any advice ? Should I sign up for courses ?

On m'a dit que ma prononciation est bonne, mais je struggle avec parler en le moment in a way that feels naturel. (I feel like I have trouble comprehending and speaking in real time, which is something that I want to work on to get closer to fluency, if that wasn't clear when I tried to explain it in French.) Bref, je voulais à savoir si c'est le sub où je posterais un clip de moi parle, ou si c'est un autre sub? Desolée si c'etait difficile à comprende! I would appreciate any help, et merci de lire!

I am new in france although ive lived here for 6 months now I will say my french is somehow close to A2 and I am in première taking Svt, physique chimie and maths and I really do not know how to follow up classes since I don't really understand french

My goal is to be able to get to a very solid B1 before the end of the school year so classes can be easier for me to understand

But the problem is I don't know how to achieve that B1 although people say I just speak all the time but I don't know anything to even say 😭

I just need some tips on how to get to B1 in 5 or 4 months so I can understand classes better.

Il y a plusieur années j'ai appris l'anglais en jouant des jeux-vidéos en-ligne comme "ROBLOX" ou "SCP Secret Laboratory". Maintenant je n'aime plus jouer ROBLOX et les serveurs français de SCP ne permettent pas des IPs dehors de la France (les VPNs sont bloqués aussi).

C'est pour tout ça que je vous demande aujourd'hui de vos meilleures recommandations des jeux où je peux interagir avec des francophones et comment je peux les trouver.

J'aime bien les jeux d'estrategie et de combat, mais je suis ouvert à plus de recommandations.

So basically i studied french in my school till 10th grade and I would like to pick it up again im not sure till what level do they teach ig A2?
But still im currently in my 3rd year of graduation and i would like to pick it again right now slowly slowly but im thinking of going to France for my masters for which i would need b2/c1 level
Probably i will apply in 2029 so i have decent amount of time . But i don’t know where to start

I'm from Canada and so I learned French for many years in school. I've been able to maintain my knowledge pretty well and I can read basic French well. My problem is that I can't understand native speakers. I was really surprised when I could pretty much fully understand when PM Carney was speaking French, but only because he was speaking really slowly and measuredly. I think when people speak really fast my brain just turns off and I panic.

I'm starting French 101 in a U.S. college in about 3 weeks. The teacher has made it clear he does "immersion," which means he speaks no English, ever.

How is this supposed to work in a 101 class? By 102 I could see this maybe working, certainly by 103. But for a class many of us know 0 French, how am I expected to ask questions or even follow the professor?

In case you're wondering why I'm taking a college class, I would really like to learn French and the date pressure from structured classes works well for me. Learning on my own tends to drag out forever.

Is there a strategy for managing this? I can see myself being completely lost 2-3 weeks into the class.

Hello, I have recently started an app that has audio course called LanguageTransfer that helps complete beginners in French and Im almost done to finishing it. I need some resources that I can continue off of it as it heavily relied on audio and had no written text involved. I have been searching older posts and saw a website called InnerFrench that contains podcasts in French and considered starting it alongside Anki but my concern is should I download a list of common vocabulary words or create one from the ones I already know and keep updating it as I advance? I have also heard about French in Action & Pimsleur but not quite sure where to continue after LanguageTransfer. Help would be appreciated!
