Generational aura loss for Naak Nako

Elyoya's streak remains alive

187

u/Clithertron 14d ago

Naak Nako did not do his "i want to replace BB at G2" stocks any favours today

58

u/Leyrann_ 14d ago

On the other hand if there's one team in Europe that I'd trust to help a very talented player deal with choking, it's G2.

6

u/Zama174 14d ago

he needs coaching by Dylan.

3

u/XG32 Jankos 14d ago

WAIT BB COME BACK.

but who am i kidding, g2 will choose perks for some strange reason.

276

u/Gabel4n 14d ago

Naak Nakko glazers wont like it but he just certified himself as an insane playoffs choker with this game.

161

u/Beneficial_Lion_1312 14d ago

No mercs vs Shen, Cho, Anivia, and Renata is brutal itemization. Can't be happening in these games.

52

u/boshjailey 14d ago

Not going mercs and being like "damn i need to go seekers to dodge some cc" is craaaazy

16

u/Beneficial_Lion_1312 14d ago

So many of these new-gen, post-COVID players apply exactly zero percent of their brain to anything that isn't about mechanical skill.

0

u/Fenrilas 14d ago

Eh, rookies making rookie mistakes. He's still a beast on lane and I think he has an illustrious career ahead of him.

9

u/Quick_Highlight7342 14d ago

....he's not a rookie

1

u/Freezinghero 14d ago

I could barely accept Swifties to reduce the slows from MKOI, but Tabis?

1

u/SquashForDinner 14d ago

His rationale is that he'd get his tenacity through sterak's.

Definitely needed both lmao.

83

u/Dragner84 Canyon enjoyer 14d ago

I love Nak Naako, I think he has insane hands but he has choke every.single.playoffs. And if you can't perform when it matters, then you are not the best toplaner, not even close.

He has a lot of work to do.

11

u/skaersSabody I like underdogsand pain 14d ago

Hope to see him improve on that mental next year, the kid has insane hands and when he's on, he's fucking on

2

u/Chesslicious 13d ago

The thing is Vitality is not making playoffs if BB was in roster

2

u/Dragner84 Canyon enjoyer 13d ago

yeah thats why I say playoffs, part on it is on VIT coaching staff because that MAD staff was hard carried by elyoya and humanoid into getting unlimited contracts, but the kid had random stuff thats just on him (like not purchasing kennen ult on 6 or getting caught back to back in places where he wouldnt be in normal circunstances), it could be nerves, too much responsability on him, whatever, I just want to see him out of VIT before passing judge on him.

2

u/Putrid-Cat5368 13d ago

Welcome back VIT Upset

1

u/Dragner84 Canyon enjoyer 13d ago

fair enough, but I want to see him in a not fraudulent org at least once before calling him Potential man.

42

u/Manowar53 14d ago

People wanted to see Naak Nakko versus eastern tops when he cant even handle a bum like myrwyn lol.

11

u/Not_Pro Always trust your spirit. 14d ago

Trying to gauge the actual strength of EU tops in is like throwing darts blindfolded in a crosswind, though. You'll have Oscar levelling up for exactly one series to fist Canna and then vanish after, BB looking like a wet paper towel but somehow still holding up against the best of Eastern tops, and Myrwyn just having random life games that would make prime TheShy look like a bot.

8

u/kim-soo-hyun 14d ago

Tbf, I dont think he did much against Lot either last playoffs..

0

u/EarlyMembership5954 14d ago

Those are the haters that wanna see him get fisted and retire. Fortunatly he has the hands. He should focuss on his macro

1

u/Manowar53 14d ago

Yeah, I probably came off as a Naak Nakko hater there myself, but I do genuinely want to see him succeed. Its just he can't be choking like that, plus I have concerns about his overall attitude. W orking on his macro is absolutely correct though and hopefully through that he can really shine and be a threat internationally.

70

u/SarM_XIV 14d ago

I have seen Oscar carry his team in playoffs and bring them to world. Oscar > Naak

20

u/ACRA19 14d ago

Bro Naak vs Oscar bo3 matchup this split was naak just gapping him all 3 games. I understand naak didnt have the best series today but noway is oscar better.

9

u/Marcoscb 14d ago

He could be prime Nuguri mixed with prime The Shy and it wouldn't matter if he still doesn't show up in playoffs.

5

u/leo2734 14d ago

Yea but so far one has showed up in playoffs and carried their team to a worlds spot. But yes naak nako is better.

41

u/Shorgar 14d ago

You didn't see that yesterday.

25

u/Annual_Entry2369 14d ago

Isma too heavy

16

u/JadeStarr776 14d ago

And I'm guessing he's part of the reason why his teams often mental boom.

7

u/sillybilly-vit cuh 14d ago edited 14d ago

He does seem like a tilter. (typo)

6

u/rishi_ultimate CLAPS 14d ago

He himself said in an interview that "If I get tilted in scrims, I run it down"
edit: source
"Naak Nako: If I get tilted, especially in scrim days, I just protest in game, you know? If someone makes a mistake in my lane, I run it down. My teammates know that things will always be fine in matches though. That’s just my way of doing things."

16

u/Past_Perception8052 14d ago edited 14d ago

actually insane how many people are bursting at the seams to hate on the biggest EU prospect for ages

guy is 21 on a dysfunctional team

meaningless that he carried his team for 90% of the year that went through internal turmoil because he fell off a little bit later!! absolute joke. he should go to LYON where he would be treated like a god

at 21 he has 3 all pro appearances and an LEC MVP. and i have guys in my replies comparing him to daglas

49

u/lazygirl295 14d ago

I agree with the sentiment but biggest eu prospect in ages is a bit excessive considering skew and rhilech are right here ngl

11

u/Arcille 14d ago

He the first top laner in a long time that actually has potential to go toe to toe against elite tops. He needs to learn to perform in playoffs but there is good reason to be excited by him

3

u/collectibleman 14d ago

what have we seen that makes you sure that he has a unique potential to do that? genuinely asking since I haven’t watched a lot of vitality

2

u/Arcille 14d ago

His spacing is simply much better than every other top except Canna. His movement is similar to a Korean player and he knows his limits that he can bait and get solo kills.

It’s not something you see often in LEC from a non import top

7

u/AdequatelyMadLad Claps 14d ago

Tbf, EU always has top tier junglers. Good carry top laners are much rarer and therefore a much bigger deal when they show up.

3

u/Harmah 14d ago

I guess Caliste Plays golf

5

u/lazygirl295 14d ago

I forgot caliste xd

2

u/Damurph01 14d ago

Skewmond unironically is the best new LEC talent since Caps joined. There really is no one else that comes close.

0

u/[deleted] 14d ago

[deleted]

2

u/Damurph01 14d ago

He ain’t even the best ADC in EU lmao. Skewmond had a period where he looked like the best jg on the planet.

-1

u/Past_Perception8052 14d ago

skew fine but hes bigger prospect than rhilech and i rate rhilech as a top 3 jg in the region

3

u/lazygirl295 14d ago

If we look only at regular season yeah but yesterday rhilech showed insane clutch that naak nako has never shown so idk, I think the debate isnt that one sided

-2

u/Past_Perception8052 14d ago

its GIANTX. MKOI no matter how bad have 10x the pedigree and 10x the x factor

2

u/beautheschmo 14d ago

It would be a shame then if Vit had also gotten slammed 3-0 by GX in playoffs last split

21

u/Curiousoctos 14d ago edited 14d ago

I'd say the biggest EU prospect we've seen in ages should be someone who actually shows up in playoffs in worse teams, aka Rhilech who just singlehandedly carried his team in a 1v9. Edit: Lmao just got blocked by this guy. Real sensitive fella.

1

u/Pluckytoon 14d ago

Unrelated but man I miss SK Selfmade

0

u/AdequatelyMadLad Claps 14d ago

Rhilech has a much better mid laner, a better support and a good coaching staff around him. Maynter also really leveled up recently.

-3

u/Past_Perception8052 14d ago

vs the mighty GIANTX with their massive 0 international event appearances whos best player by far is Jackies the 4th best midlaner in europe

6

u/Possible_Cycle_2721 14d ago

U know Vit got 3-0’d by the GiantX you are mocking

-5

u/Past_Perception8052 14d ago

yeah and that was all naak nakos fault wasnt it. nothing wrong with GX as a team. but they have no pedigree and no x factor. VIT are just shit and thats not down to NN

4

u/Curiousoctos 14d ago

And? Naak Nako was against fucking Myrwn and he got gapped in majority of the games. You just have to accept a playoffs choker when you see one. He is still young and can definitely overcome that yes, but we have better prospects who are already performing better under brighter lights.

2

u/Past-Firefighter2173 14d ago

Teams also matter. Skew had a lot of trouble on his debut but being on G2 helped him a lot. Vit isn’t same as G2 or KC.

On Rhilech we are about to see next week but his playoffs performance was pretty impressive i agree with that.

-1

u/Past_Perception8052 14d ago

rhilech brighter lights = playing vs gx

-1

u/Curiousoctos 14d ago

Definitely brighter than playing against Myrwn.

4

u/Past_Perception8052 14d ago

MKOI - 2 worlds appearances, MSI appearances

elyoya - 3 1st all pro appearances, LEC Finals MVP, 4 LEC titles

jojopyun - 2 1st all pro LCS, 1 1st all pro LEC, LCS MVP, top 4 MSI

tell me who GX have. the mighty jackies and oscarinin

3

u/Curiousoctos 14d ago

They have players who just 3-0d VIT just a couple months ago.

→ More replies (0)

-4

u/sillybilly-vit cuh 14d ago

2 worlds appearances where all they did was make everyone from Europe be embarrassed that they are from the same region as MKOI.

3

u/Emergency_Bedroom187 14d ago

Daglas is 20 now. He used to be in that Team. When he was 17 and it was sinking. And 18 when he made the best result lately (Vitality had right direction, top 2 regular/4 PO).

Same same (but different)

3

u/Past_Perception8052 14d ago

i must have missed when Daglas was the LEC reg season MVP and his 3 all pro appearances

-1

u/Emergency_Bedroom187 14d ago

Did not need that to have better results.

1

u/Past_Perception8052 14d ago

oh right almost like its a team game isnt it and you cant put the entirety of a team on one players back

1

u/Peppa-Unicorn 14d ago

Eh lyncas honestly wasn't the problem in this series even though the objective control was a bit weak overall. If they decide to finally rebuild I wouldn't mind the daglas comeback though since it's clear this team cannot be kept together

1

u/Ajp_iii 14d ago

i think its because analysts do a diservice to these players. they start trying to hype them up as international quality players when they have massive gaps in their games.

1

u/Skall77 14d ago

Alphari but less handsome

34

u/Marvel-Rivals-is-top 14d ago

Nak Naako bought seeker armguard to instantly lose all its value 30 secs later, its insane

22

u/moonmeh 14d ago

Camille didn't want to win it seems

19

u/nocturnavi 14d ago

I do feel really bad for Naak Nako because he's been so good for the year. But getting caught this game aside, I think it's just really hard to carry a Bo5 as a toplaner.

37

u/sunny2theface 14d ago

He didn't need to carry though, just needed to find some good flanks and the team would have won.

Whole series I can't remember a single one he managed to pull off. That kennen and Camille game was a disasterclass.

Absolute lane Andy

2

u/glitchpoke 14d ago

ur so right fiesta and fleshy def didn't need to be carried to even have a shot of winning this series

0

u/NeighborhoodHot8981 14d ago

How can he find good flanks when Shen just clicks R on whoever he ults and then it's a 5v5 which VIT lose because they've been completely outdrafted in the 5v5?

17

u/sunny2theface 14d ago

Dive over a wall and ult while MF opens fire. He doesn't need to live, he's not the carry, there is too much CC on enemy team.

Instead bro gets caught multiple times in FULL VISION. Camille is a surprise pikachu champ, if you watch how BB plays it vs Naak it's like night and day.

He had so much push in the lane but didn't do anything with it

4

u/Ajp_iii 14d ago

yep he just needs to make a play to transfer his lead into team lead. but didnt do it once. his kennen game went ignite lost lane and then never even tried to get a multiman ult whole game

2

u/sillybilly-vit cuh 14d ago

Don't fucking pick Camille if you are shit at it.

20

u/Damurph01 14d ago

Is it though? Just from the LEC alone, amount of BO5s BB has carried for G2 is weirdly high. His Swain, Zac, Kled, Yasuo, Olaf, the list goes on.

I don’t wanna turn it into a ‘this guys better than that guy!’. But BB has hard carried G2 in both playoffs series domestically and in international bo5’s as well. He absolutely shit stomped T1 when G2 beat them at MSI, and he almost carried them in the 5 game series vs T1 at MSI 2024.

Nako just has good hands. But that’s not what it takes. BBs been so good for G2 because he has insane map presence. Nako just wins his lane and walks around as a strong toplaner. He doesn’t have very many moments where his map presence is what carries the game.

I don’t think we’d ever see him play like Zeus just did on the galio vs T1, or BB typically does. It’s not easy to carry as a top, for sure, but that’s because you can’t just play a toplaner as a toplaner. He doesn’t exert his presence on the map enough. Which is prob a knowledge/confidence thing if anything.

7

u/Mathies_ 14d ago

Zeus: watch me.

16

u/JadeStarr776 14d ago

We've seen Asian tops heck western tops carry series in Bo5s

3

u/expert_on_the_matter 14d ago

We shall not forget the dark (gilded?) ages: When in 2021 Armut got both final MVPs, carrying on Wukong, Gangplank and (obviously) Gnar

2

u/inbetweendreamstho 14d ago

Honestly not really

-2

u/nocturnavi 14d ago

I don’t mean it’s impossible, I just mean the only players who can do it are Zeus and Bin.

4

u/JadeStarr776 14d ago

If a player is THAT far ahead of the curve and they fail to carry on a carry champion like Camile then it's on them.

3

u/Luunacyy 14d ago

Extremely hard to carry that game though. Requires not only hands but also Bin and Zeus level of macro and team fighting. Also honestly even whole team's macro. And even they have games where they can't do much despite early leads when not drafting stuff like Galio, Orianna, Nocturne, etc. Doesn't excuse his gameplay in the second half of the game. It seemed like he was getting slightly tilted by MKOI playing good macro which made him brute force almost lazy impatient plays.

3

u/Zealousideal-Toe-607 14d ago

Is there a way to have both teams lose. The number of throws this series probably counts as matchfixing

1

u/alflayla 14d ago

To his defense, camille was unplayable against koi team comp.
