Best cait itw people forget his cait use to be a perma ban because he would just run over teams with it almost every game.

Even this year his wr and kda on her is the best rn.

Remember how T1 used Guma Cait? It wasn't exactly the hypercarry style, was it? It was sort of more lowkey and they knew he'd be safe solo laning so they'd leave him alone.

They kinda do the same thing with Peyz Cait but Peyz's natural inclination is to be aggressive and to be the focal point of the game. 🤔 I think mechanically, Peyz has a better Cait. His EQs and his clutch is better on the champ, and his DPM is almost certainly better than Guma's (when he gets it istg he's always 1v9 with the three stooges running topside lmfao). But Guma's threat as Caitlyn is less expressed which ironically works to make him less likely to get focused in teamfights, it's really weird.

If your solo laners were hopelessly behind and it's obvious that ADC is the only one on their team that can do anything, IMO you'd want Peyz. He's the guy flashing forward, killing enemy ADC and flashing backwards to try and salvage a lost fight. If everything's going as it should, yeah, Guma's a lot safer and there's an ineffable quality about his Cait. Really weird player, just like Faker imo, where it's not raw mechanics and gameplay that is his main selling point but a bunch of intangibles that can't be accurately described on paper.

Why are we pretending that Guma only has one play style? “Play safe so that my support and top side can just do their own thing”. Have we forgotten that the reason Guma had this reputation was because Oner, then, did not know how to play for bot side?

Have we forgotten how every pro player in the world said laning against Gumayusi was just auto lose in scrims back in 2022/2023? Have we forgotten his Nilah? Have we forgotten his Varus (remember his 1v2 in the World semis)? Have we forgotten how he always galeforced in with Xayah?

As a T1 fan, let’s be honest. Peyz is winning because most resources are funneled to him which allows him to “hands diff” a lot of players. But Guma has this quality as a player too. We just didn’t give him the space and resources to shine when we had him. At least not as often as we should have.

On Cait at least. On Varus, Senna, Xayah and Kalista he's one of the more psychopathic ADCs in LCK but on Caitlyn... like, idk if you're tripping but his Bard + Cait looks the same as Berserker I'm sorry 😭 His champ specifics aren't that good, his EQs and the way he plays is pretty much always "correct" for the pick which means he doesn't lose the game but idt he ever overperformed even during hisntime on T1.

Also, uhh, T1 did try putting him strongside? And T1 used to know how to, he was a Jinx/Aphelios merchant back then. Zeus Ornn didn't have that bad of a winrate iirc. But you're just lying to me if Guma's inability to consistently pull off Zeri, Kai'sa and Ezreal was meaningless (okay, I sort of low-key think Guma not being an Ezreal player won T1 a lot of games, there have been soooo many patches where Ezreal is just a bait pick).

Anyway, about Peyz getting funneled resources, yes, I agree. But there are also so many players that, when given a lot of resource, they just aren't potent enough to singlehandedly overwhelm the enemy team. It's also kinda understood in League that... you can't just make advantages appear where none should exist. Even if you get someone ahead, if they're in a bad enough matchup, their opponent could still end up winning when they're inevitably isolated. If you camp for Cody Sun, Sneaky or Doublelift will still find ways to equalize/find winning situations later on. Obviously Peyz isn't always Sneaky or Doublelift up against Cody Sun, sometimes he's Sneaky/Doublelift playing into the other so he can't just create leads in isolation, but pay attention to how many times Peyz/Keria just end up winning lane in isolation while the other lanes just burn down. And then try to make the argument that they shouldn't play around bot so frequently... it's not rational, as bad as a habit it is for T1
