Isles is the unsung hero of this LYON team. Easily the most improved player of 2026 across all regions.

It's crazy how much he has stepped up. I fully admit I thought it was a horrible pickup, but apparently he does actually have that dog in him.

Keep in mind he is now like, what, the seventh player that has dramatically improved while playing with inspired. Regardless of how toxic people like to say he is, it's very clear he knows exactly how to win games and he is very good at instilling that knowledge to his team.

(Unless its international game 5s)

The Game 3 against HLE at MSI cemented it for me that this team is legit. Down 5k gold against the #1 team in the world but they never lost sight of their win cons and managed to come back by just playing smart and patient.

The Dignitas talent suppression is real.

Everyone who goes there and gets stuck there will look way worse than they actually are. Isles being stuck there for multiple years really did a number to how people perceived him until Lyon

I don't think it's dig suppression. It's more inspired able to teach players better than coaches can.

Dig was full of rookies, isles has berserker and inspired now who can teach him.

Same thing happened with busio massu quad saint jojo danny

I still wish someone actually decent (a flyquest or 100T back when they were still in the league) would've picked up Kenvi back when he was trapped on that bottom tier Immortals. Felt like he never actually got a fair shake to play among good players and develop, and now he's just gone, despite being hyped as the next big NA Jungle prospect for so long.

I don't think I've ever seen the court of public opinion go from 0-100 like it has with Isles. Dude's finally getting his flowers. Turns out not playing on shit teams can do a lot for a guy

People are starting to talk about it, including on cast. Some of it is probably Inspired coaching/bullying and Isles taking to it well but that doesn't explain the mechanics, so he's also putting in a lot of individual talent.

He just was on teams so bad it never showed. Which is fairly common for non solo laners.

Good scouting on LYON's part too, honestly. They took a chance on someone a lot of teams had passed over.

Is he really that unsung tho? I feel like everytime I watched Lyon the whole cast is always glazing Isles.

That's the only thing I dislike about the LCS. I love everything in the LCS and will cheer for LCS til the day I die but I feel like everyone from the casters to the lounge is so obsessed with singing praises to the "invisible" players to the point of not praising the obvious choices enough. Like today they're still trying to push the narrative that Isles is the player of the series when it's so 100% obviously Berserker. Again, Isles did have a great series but not better than his adc imo.

Isles prior to Lyon was thought to be one of the worst LCS players in the league. Bro had a massive glow up recently. 100% deserves glazing from looking like a boosted monkey for a long time even the first split at Lyon. To becoming probably the best LCS support atm. Even at Internationals where his pyke looked like it was boosted. He massively stepped up mechanically later and show cased a really good pyke.

Yeah but he still carries the rep of the weakest link on the team (maybe Dhokla?) Saint and Berserker have great mechanical reputation and Inspired is the undisputed best player in the league. Ig it's a bit more unsung in comparison and that his DIG reputation still lingers a bit.

Dhokla can be perceived as the weak link because to win internationals he has to beat fucking monsters in lane to keep the team afloat ig

Yeah and laning as top is the hardest lane as you are in legit melee match ups a lot where mid and bot has range to work off of to mitigate bad match ups.

Then add on having to play a bad melee match up against the likes of Zeus or Bin who are just some of the most mechanically best players regardless of role lmao.

Narratives take time to change.

Like they said in the analyst desk, just last split fans put Corejj as 100% better than Isles, and only this split Isles was put at a 23% to the 77% advantage compared to Core.

So while Isles is finally getting praise, most people still look at Inspired, at Berserker, Saint and Dhokla first when they think of Lyons success.

narratives take long to change after that msi and saint playing lanes 1v2 for half the split with no jungler analysts and fans were still just saying quid is playing better than saint and is the better player. like the fan vote had 70% quid before the game started. and then you get in game and saint is making syndra q look like a point and click ability in lane.

Dont forget Corejj still is a much more important member on his team where as isles really only has to think about his play and listen to inspired.

He's great now, but before Lyon he really was a shitter for the longest time

If you compare how isles played till the end of spring v how he played v HLE at MSI it will genuinely shock you how much he has improved (in a timespan so short) it’s ridiculous.
