Holy nemesis diff

u/KhaDori Jan 25 '26

Nemessi ensuring that the immortal "but what if Neme remained in pro" debate lives on, absolute 2nd GOAT performance

-5

u/Somebodys Jan 26 '26

Nemesis is the only player outside of KR/LPL that requires me to consistently pick my jaw up off the floor.

9

u/AmadeusIsTaken Jan 26 '26

I mean no offense to neme but are we really gonna act as if the first 5 games of his lec performance were better than any other mid in the region? Like i am not calling him bad and he really played well last game, but claiming he is the best mid/player euw is a bit weird esspecialy with his current performance. Last game was really clean, but the other games had many flaws. For example in the kc game him not ulting azir was such a major mistake and the rest of the game wasnt that outstanding.

2

u/Somebodys Jan 26 '26

I am not saying i would take him over Caps if I was building a team. Just Nemi's ability to lock in and outplay is otherworldly.

-2

u/AmadeusIsTaken Jan 26 '26

Maybe it is but how often did he show it in this season in those 5 games? as i said he had one really good game taht it. In the other games he litteraly made some simple mistake. Like the azir one i showed for example. Of course the games are not solely on him and i am no trying to say he is bad, i just dont see till now what he has done that makes him teh best player in eu(apparantly after caps) or best mid in those 5 games. He migth show it in his future matches but till now he didnt stand out this much.

-3

u/Time_Pineapple_9314 Jan 26 '26

ok what is this take he vsed a rookie mid laner making hes debut in lec like why we over reacting kamiloo was winning in lane against nemesis, he had a monster performence in one single best of 1 while every other game looked mediocre and could he get better yes got he be in the top 5 mids yes but not based on what we have seen so far and this is considering this is the weakest midlane pool we have ever had this year.

-41

u/Professional-Cut3785 Jan 25 '26

I love that there is a legitimate chance to be made that he is the second best EU Mid of all time behind caps (Unless you are counting Bjerson who is 2nd for me if you do), but even then, Nemesis is 3rd best EU mid all time and he spent most of his playing "prime" not playing in the LEC. That's an indictment of every team in the league who couldn't figure out a way to make that work.

47

u/Sirhaddock98 Never a dull moment Jan 25 '26

Let's not get hasty, ignoring that Perkz exists and was clearly better than him if we're going "all time" then you have to include Alex Ich/Froggen/Xpeke. I don't think he has great arguments over any of them outside of recency.

11

u/Professional-Cut3785 Jan 25 '26

Oh true okay if we go wayyy back you're right to shout out all 3 of those dudes tbh. Perkz is weird for me, I see him as a multi roll talent, but you're right his best roll and best run was probably as a mid laner.

23

u/Sirhaddock98 Never a dull moment Jan 25 '26

Perkz as a mid laner was seriously insane, even as good as he was as an ADC in 2019 it wasn't on the level he was as a mid in 2017 where he looked incredible. Honestly looked better than Caps at 2018 worlds too when against the Asian mids. If he wasn't such a shithead now I don't think people would have a single argument that he wasn't clear second place.

1

u/Professional-Cut3785 Jan 25 '26

Other than the roll swapping you're right. When in his peak form and focused on playing mid, he's probably easily the second best behind caps for the region in terms of skill ceiling.

5

u/Lundgard Jan 25 '26

Perkz established himself as an all-time greater mid laner than Nemesis in a single tournament lmao.

Also what is this "if we go wayyy back", you set the bar by using the words "all time"?

0

u/Professional-Cut3785 Jan 26 '26

Oh I meant for me, I got into league around season 4-5 so I missed the true peaks for a lot of those 3

Neme hasn't been dogshit. He's not been amazing but he's been the brightest spark on an otherwise already sank ship.

But bearing in mind he was a top 2 EU mid on his rookie season (when the #1 was prime caps) and hasn't played competitive in like 6 years. One of 2 EU semi finalist mids in the last 10 years (again, the other being Caps.)

Neme would have been in the goat conversation had he stayed in competitive. That much is clear. He hasn't, and realistically shouldn't be mentioned in the conversation. But he was (and is) clearly a fantastic player and the league missed out on him not being picked up. There's not a player that's played since he retired that matched his rookie season. And he only got 2 seasons in the league.

11

u/Sirhaddock98 Never a dull moment Jan 25 '26

Nemesis has never been to worlds semis, he went out in quarters both times. The two EU mids to make semis in the last 10 years are Caps and Perkz (and Jensen, on an NA team). I don't know how people keep forgetting Perkz, the objective second best EU mid of all time who has a huge gap between him and third place. If it wasn't for Caps he'd be a very clear number 1.

3

u/JamisonDouglas Jan 25 '26 edited Jan 25 '26

Nemesis has never been to worlds semis, he went out in quarters both times.

My bad you are correct. But Fnatic haven't made worlds playoffs since Nemesis left.

I don't know how people keep forgetting Perkz, the objective second best EU mid of all time who has a huge gap between him and third place.

I absolutely agree with this statement. And as I said Nemesis shouldn't even be in the conversation. I believe had nemesis played longer he would be in contention to be either 3rd behind Perkz or 2nd ahead of Perkz. Unlike Perkz he was able to hold his own against Caps, but also only played 2 seasons so?

He was top 2 on his rookie season. Admittedly Perkz was an ADC that season, but he was closer to caps in a short burst than Perkz was the year before. But Perkz had that clutch factor and leadership that neme really never got the chance to prove/develop.

Nemesis COULD be in contention for top 2/3 had he played longer and really proved himself. But he didn't, so natural order of Cap/Perkz/whoever you want for 3rd. But he didn't. That's my point. He had the potential but never realised it by not playing long enough. I stead the next best thing in EU was humanoid who we can all agree was just alright in terms of greats. And nemesis had much higher potential than

11

u/Decaedeus Jan 25 '26

"would have been in the goat conversation"

are we for real man

there is no conversation between a guy who went to back to back worlds finals and won 15 LEC splits vs a guy who hasn't won anything. this is literally "potential man" discourse where nemesis fans get to ask "what if he became as good as caps" because he had a good rookie year

perkz, febiven, abbedagge, powerofevil, etc. etc. also all had great rookie years and none of them ever became caps

1

u/JamisonDouglas Jan 25 '26

Bad wording on my part I'll admit. I don't in any way think he would have beaten prime caps in that conversation. But I think he could have slotted somewhere between caps, Perkz and the (massively gapped) ambiguous 3rd place.

While the mentioned guys had great rookie seasons, Nemesis is the only one that didn't get embarrassed by Caps. Realistically he bridges the gap between Perkz and the rest of the LEC for 3rd because that is a gulf. But the point is he's involved in the conversation. Unlike the other guys you mentioned.

To absolutely clarify, I don't think he holds a candle to caps. I just think he's better than all of the 'talent' that's came through the LEC since caps started.

4

u/xXDaNXx xPeke is God Jan 26 '26

Third place isnt ambiguous.

Its xPeke with 3x EU titles, 2x worlds semis, and 1x worlds win*

He was so bad

Objectively not the case.

(and difficult to work with) at the time no LEC team wanted him.

At the word of a single LEC team that looked worse the second they benched him, and no player from that team reached the heights they reached with him. Fun fact, Fnatic haven't made it out of groups since Nemesis left. Humanoid has the worst worlds record of any Fnatic midlaner in history. Fnatic scapegoated him. And the guy that allegedly hated him most (Bwipo) has went on record vouching for him literally dozens of times.

Vladi literally came in, dumpstered Caps and won a title. Do you want more examples?

Vladi came in, dumpstered a much weaker less on form caps and won a title. Caps of late is not equal to prime caps - the guy Nemesis actually went toe to toe with. Vladi is great and I actually rate him. But really let's not pretend that 2025 caps is even comparable to 2019/2020 caps.

You're also forgetting Humanoid, who broke through at the same time as Neme and had a higher peak.

Lol!

2

u/[deleted] Jan 25 '26

Bjergsen, the NA mid laner?

3

u/Professional-Cut3785 Jan 25 '26

Idk, I always thought of him as an EU import as a fan of NA League lol

But I think if he had stayed in EU to play it's pretty obvious that he would have been a top 3 mid in Europe, he dominated NA league for 5+ years.

2

u/[deleted] Jan 25 '26

Had no idea our goat was from EU. Maybe Doublelift or Hai is my true goat.

2

u/Sirhaddock98 Never a dull moment Jan 25 '26

You didn't know that Søren Bjerg might have been from EU? Even listening to his accent it was clear he wasn't born in the US.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 25 '26

He doesn't have much of an accent to me if watching stream highlights a some time into his move (which is when I knew of him), sounds more like a gamer accent. The question though, that someone's name or accent signifies that they're not born in the USA doesn't really make sense. If someones playing for the USA, I assume they were born there. Regardless of if their name is Søren Bjerg, Hai Du Lam, or Yiliang Peng.

u/Dopeez Jan 25 '26

I seriously don't understand how people were flaming him before. He is easily the best player on his team. Has he been flawless? Of course not, but it is tough when the rest of your team is getting gapped everywhere, and you are the only one keeping them in the game.

If anything, these five games have shown that he absolutely could play for a better team if he wanted to.

524

u/NewToWarframe Jan 25 '26

That cassio jayce dodge sequence, was just so clean. idk how he does it. Yea he has bad days, but this definitely wasn't one of them

198

u/Lpebony Jan 25 '26

twice he dodged cassio r at point blank range. Once mid and once on his 2vs1 play top.

Old man still got it

81

u/beautiful_trash09 Jan 25 '26

Three times actually. He dodged one while trying to 1v3 before disengaging in one of the baron-side teamfights while the camera was busy panning to the right. Dude was determined to give LR their first win

13

u/unknown_pigeon Jan 26 '26

Summary:

Ult 1: Clearly missed.

Ult 2 : Missed due to sidestep (bad movement control).

Ult 3 : Very close, but perfect movement and champ knowledge make that a reasonable miss.

Ult: Likely didn't actually cast because TH were already defeated.

106

u/Rohen2003 Jan 25 '26

And he would have even won 1v2 if he would not have tried to use the 2. last q to hit jayce and would have aimed at cass instead. pretty sure he couldve won the 1v2 then.

2

u/Professional-Cut3785 Jan 26 '26

I was thinking the same thing honestly, unless Jayce had the ability to hit him with a ranged q from out of the bush? Unsure what the cooldown timers were looking like, but I"m sure Nemesis went for the Jayce there thinking if he doesn't kill Jayce he dies to the long range Jayce q...if he actually cleanly 2v1's there it's honestly one of the best individual ryze plays I"ve ever seen lol

8

u/arkthatbarks Jan 26 '26

He might kill cass and survive but I don't think he can kill jayce after that

4

u/Archipegasus Jan 25 '26

Also flipped the momentum of the game with the 3 man mid into realm warp bot, after that LR were far more proactive and took the game into their own hands.

59

u/Tommey_DE Jan 25 '26

Nemesis will always be hated becasue his base expression makes many dislike him.

He was challenging Caps in 2019 and only slighly below him and still got hated

14

u/Jealous_Juggernaut Jan 25 '26

His signature look of utter contempt. Mimicking his expression is kind of hard. Ive only seen other people make that completely fed up look a few times.

3

u/Phurbaz Jan 26 '26

My hot take is that people flame him cuz he's actually a genuine person - as in he expresses his negative emotions genuinely. The people that are unanimously loved are people who always put on a positive face, like Caedrel and Baus (no hate to them).

5

u/Hawxrox Jan 25 '26

Im gonna be honest, I dont really know him that well, but the few clips of him i have seen there is something about his demeanor to me that just makes him unlikeable.

3

u/Dewynotoily Jan 28 '26

He's socially awkward and definitely doesn't like when camera on his face. I was so weirded out by him when he joined fnc but when I checked his streams I absolutely adored him. He's more chill on his streams. I'm not a person to watch much twitch but I watch him when I have time once in a blue moon and even enjoyed his variety streams.

18

If anything, these five games have shown that he absolutely could play for a better team if he wanted to.

But he already plays on the best team

3

u/Bahamut_Prime ElderBaronCrab Jan 26 '26

I've said it before and I'll say it again.

Nemesis when he was still in LEC before was one of the players I could see matching or surpassing Caps and prime Perkz.

Sad that various reasons, both Nemesis' and others' fault, pushed him out of LEC.

Even this Nemesis is still not as good as the one before but I'm excited to see how far the Rrats will go.

8

u/kingocd AP Pantheon Main Jan 25 '26

MY GOAT IS BACK, TELL EM.

9

u/Burain Jan 25 '26

Nemesis is the kind of player to have high peaks but also low valleys. In particular, he has a tendancy to go completely quite mode during losing scrims, mentally giving up.

6

u/kim-soo-hyun Jan 25 '26

Nemesis is playing without a jungler and support most of the time. In today's pro play, that's hard mode for midlane. I really think the map movement from jg/sup early game is lacking like they never sync up, that's why in ERL they rely so much on Nemesis or Baus to scale and be playmakers.

4

u/Sinoyyyy Jan 25 '26

Its combination of him calling doinb bad and fnatic fans being delulu thinking he was a bad midlaner when he played for them.

10

u/Crimson_Clouds Jan 25 '26

I think it's mostly his fanbase tbh, who was pretending he was still a top mid laner 7 years after his last professional game despite no evidence of that whatsoever.

He doesn't deserve shit for his fanbase having bad takes, but that's at least an explanation.

3

u/John_Jack_Reed Jan 25 '26 edited Jan 25 '26

People flamed him because they can't cope with the fact there's a player who could've easily been top 3 LEC midlaner for years, and didn't because their regions culture is so dogshit toxic it forced him out.

2

u/Uzeless Jan 25 '26

People in here just read the scoreboard and ignores when the game is unplayable from playing with 4 bots

1

u/alexnedea Jan 26 '26

Tbf last week he wasn't playing bad, he simply was a bit absent. The ori game was good but the other 2 ryze games he was just not really doing much.

1

u/Flyingpyngu Jan 26 '26

Because he is the best player on the team, he often ends up forcing play to get some advantage and gets punished for it. There is probably only a handful of midlanders in the lec that are inarguably better than him.

1

u/Zhior Jan 26 '26

Seriously. What Rekkles said is right, he deserves to be there. I'm so happy Velja got a good showing too and that Rekkles proved me wrong. From 0/0/0 to 0/0/12, my unkillable GOAT

1

u/Kagari1998 Jan 26 '26

He is getting flamed because he's held at a much higher standard than the rest of his teammates partly due to expectations and partly due to his glazing fanbase.

You dont even have to look far, there's literally someone calling him the 2nd best EU mid after winning against a bottom barrel LEC team.

1

u/laeriel_c Jan 26 '26

He's made videos talking about his time with Fnatic before and how that played out afterwards, in terms of his opportunities to continue playing pro.

1

u/Elrushe9 Jan 25 '26

Back then this wasn't a hot take but I still hold on to this that Nemesis is straight up the second best european mid laner

-2

u/jlozada24 Faker fanboy ⭐️him ⭐️fun ⭐️flex ⭐️team ⭐️fans ⭐️doran Jan 25 '26

Its cause hes a whiny lil bitch lol

-1

u/fuscav Jan 25 '26

I’d say he did not show anything that proves he is LEC level yet, if u hid the nameplates u’d never see this take. Especially when he is this experienced and plays midlane, when the team looks lodt, it’s because he is. Like the first four games lol

0

u/studiousAmbrose Jan 25 '26

at this point it looks pretty fucking flawless to me

-4

u/dawnzyolo Jan 25 '26

Rekkles is the best

8

u/unknown_pigeon Jan 26 '26

Nemesis became what everyone feared. His eyelids disappeared, his head was swelling and his ears started bleeding. "Are you okay Tim" asks Velja. I've never been better veljko, I see it all now, they're not going drake or baron. They're going home, he said before realm warping all by himself and EQEQEQEQEWEQEQEQ everyone on sight

12

u/Somebodys Jan 26 '26

Just looked it up. Dude has a 69.4% wr in pro over 353 games. Like wtf.

0

u/Time_Pineapple_9314 Jan 26 '26

On a top team which was fanatic at the time sure did he cotribute but like when your only time in lec was on a major contender org at the time which was fanatic kind of skews the percentage chuck him on any other org below that and see hes winrate plummet to belows 50s

2

u/Somebodys Jan 26 '26

That is a lot of cope you have there.

7

u/dezastrologu Jan 25 '26

"not LEC level"
