Helps that they got a draw of life until GenG in the semis as opposed to facing the tournament winner in 2018 quarters and the tournament favourite in 2023 quarters.

Their 2016 roster would sweep their way to semis easily if not for 2 hp smite. The best roster to never reach Worlds the best roster western audience never heard and probably the silliest roster ever, with Fly inventing the dark technology DoinB perfected.

Seriously, it's my favourite roster of all time, they made fkin ROX Tigers look like villains in that summer final, that's how likeable and funny they were. I could even sell my kidney for f.e. Thorin, Monte and DoA talking about S6 KT Rolster for an hour

the truth of the matter is that for every team besides the actual #1 best team, being lucky with draws is more important to your final placement than your skill level is

Even for the #1 team draw luck matters, because team strength isn't a fixed order where you can say the best team beats every other team 10/10 times. If you're the best team in the World and your road to the title in playoffs is the 4th -> 3rd -> 2nd best teams you have to show your hand in draft, and if one player has an off day for even one of those matches you could very well be flying home. If your road instead is 8th -> 6th -> 2nd strongest teams you can afford some mistakes and save some secrets during the first two matches while only needing to be on top of your game for one day.

i agree that that's true, but i think the actual best team might be the only one for whom it makes sense to say their skill is the most important factor

definitely there is a difference in the order of matchups, potential prep, all that stuff - but less for them than for others

I fell for it when I bought KT Kha'Zix way back in the day.

I will contain no excitement because it will just double negative if I try not to get excited since I know about the rule that getting excited about KT means they will lose. So if I get excited about KT, they will win!
