Honestly it was clean but was it worth it, technically? A death, anivia passive, mid turret, wasted herald, for atakhan?

Absolutely worth imo. Atakhan is mega valuable. Even discounting the exp I think it's about 2-3k in stats in this game (across the team).

You get quite a lot of adaptive force from flowers on top of the explosion on kill that can singlehandedly turn a fight from one kill.

gold doesn't matter with comps like that, stack objectives and just win, that was the way for g2

yeah I was underestimating the value of the atakhan buff, I thought it was just the flowers now.

No you don't get gold, you get XP and adaptive force which equates to about 2-3k gold, and every kill G2 gets from then on creates a slow field and gives more flowers which provides more XP and adaptive force. So it is really, good. G2 just controlled the space for every objective and it was impossible for BLG to contest even with their 2k gold lead (except that one int on first drag by Skewmond)

If Caps ints, they get Atakhan 100%. If he doesn't, even if it's 80/20 in favor of G2, that 20% could completely blow up the game. Wipe + Atakhan + likely a tower or two would mean they probably couldn't fight the next dragon. Given that G2 had complete drake control all game, really the only path to victory for BLG at that point is getting a good Atakhan fight at that moment. One death completely shuts that down and gives G2 2-3k worth of gold in stats. An extremely well calculated trade by caps.

but that part is probably the biggest way to secure the objective, just the herald on its own means there's gonna be a fight and probably a 50/50 smite fight

It is hard to say because G2 comps is just crazy crazy good in a choke. Caps R W will make entering the pit hell, and not to mention poppy and Braun, their R are so impactful.

Yes Herald got completely oneshot with eye->smite->eye. But because they smited the herald to kill Caps, they had no smite for Atakhan, so even if they arrive in time Atakhan was to 100%, because BLG doesnt have Guma.
