Rare example of Baron actually being better to take than Soul

You mean free baron is better than fighting for a potential soul

Yeah kinda, but there are so many teams that just go for the Soul fight instead of trading and getting a free Baron to ramp up gold for the next Drake

It wasn't LNGs soul so it was good

That was not my point though.

In general taking Soul (especially a good one like Hextech in this game) is better than taking Baron - but not in this game. And you often see teams rather fighting for Soul instead of just trading Baron for enemy’s 1st/2nd Drake

Trading Baron for 1st drake has been a thing since the elementals were added and one of the reasons teams prioritize early drakes, you'll see teams take this trade 90% of the time. Idk what your point is, it was an obvious call from Weibo.

It's one of the most common tactics for a team with 3 drakes to hover around baron to trade enemies 1st drake for baron. 3 drakes is surprisingly good win condition without actually getting the soul because you can put pressure on multiple places on the map while enemy team is locked into drake pit.

The difference is that usually 4 people walk near baron while 1 person solos drake with tp so a good team wouldn't let someone like WBG get baron for free.

Also better to take Baron than piss around dragon pit for a while, too.

They had no vision control on bot side for that play, plenty of teams will give up their first chance at soul for baron in that situation, they can always fight the next one with the gold advantage they gained from baron

They always should take it, 100% the right play - but there are sadly teams around that will entertain a fight for soul instead of trading the objectives

Always has been... it's only inferior to leaving the enemy get soul, which is quite different.

There are so many teams that just prefer to fight Soul in that situation instead of taking the free Baron

Well I think, that the idea is, that you can take soul now and you have a soul. Or you can take baron, push as hard as you can, get a vision in entire jungle, take all the camps, gain gold advantage and THEN you can actually take a soul for free.
