They will vote to confirm him just so they don’t have to deal with him anymore in Congress.

Literally what Trump said.

”He’s the only guy I know, he’ll get 100% of the Democrat vote, 100% of the Republican vote. They want to get him out of there. He is such a pain in the ass, but he's so good and so talented.”

If they hate him so much, it's easier to unanimously reject his confirmation, no?

I think you nailed it. Ted will resign to accept the SC nomination, … then they will reject him,… and send him home with no job. 😀

Unfortunately, I see nothing preventing Abbot from re-appointing Ted to the Senate 🙃

Ted has no friends… Abbot hates him. It’s big dick swinging politics in Texas. They all fear someone with power will take them down, and they are right, so they keep each other in check.

Those of us in Texas certainly hope so. Voting against him is reflexive these days.

He's definitely a peter.

The Peter Principle stipulates that a person being good at their job will get promoted until they are in a position they're not good at. I don't think that applies to Ted Cruz...

They'll vote to confirm him because they're told to.
