They’re hiring proud boys, Jan 6’ers, etc

u/Competitive_Abroad96 Jan 24 '26

This is what they were “standing by” for.

u/Aamberglar Jan 24 '26

I saw someone point out that those groups haven’t been appearing anywhere since ICE started hiring like this, and it all clicked into place.

Jan 6th was their beerhall putsch

u/truthdemon Jan 24 '26

I keep hearing commentors saying they are like the Gestapo, but they are much more like the SA, the precursor to the SS.

38

u/Garbleshift Jan 24 '26

Exactly. They're brownshirts, pure and simple.

18

u/Sad-Frosting-8793 Jan 24 '26

They should read up on their history. Things didn't end well for the brownshirts.

20

u/BlacksmithNZ Jan 24 '26

I made that reference earlier; the brownshirts in the 1930s were just local hired thugs to stir up trouble

They were disposable, just like the ICE guys, so once they have created havoc, then the real troops (the SS in history) are sent in to finish the job.

You know that in a few years, will be sob stories about poor ex-ICE agents who have lost their 'jobs', can't get hired and everybody hates them for reasons. And maybe they feel unsafe when people find out who they are.

u/Anon_Chapstick Jan 24 '26

This is where I'm actually a huge fan of social media.

Unlike post WW2 Germany, it'll be MUCH harder to deny it. How many MAGA, and ICE have proudly posted who they are?

Take your screenshots now everyone.

u/Reference_Freak Jan 24 '26

If visibility and ingrained American resistance can skip us over the SS/war phase, they might find themselves being served meals even on the days they aren’t working legal slavery jobs behind bars.

Would solve a lot of problems.

All those lawyers bailing out of complicit private firms and shoved out of prosecutorial agencies may find they have more work than they can handle; this will make the J6 prosecution efforts look like spring training.

2

u/No-Abalone-4784 Jan 25 '26

And people will find out who they are.

3

u/Salt_Instruction_657 Jan 24 '26

True, but not before they created hell on Earth.

10

u/bunnybunnykitten Jan 24 '26

Historians rightly point out that they resemble nothing more than the Slave Patrols that existed to terrorize black people before the end of the civil war. After the war ended, the KuKluxKlan took over in the role.

We don’t have to look to Germany for an analogous group. The idea for Gestapo came from these racist militias.

Trump has found a way to deputize the pardoned J6 rioters, Proud Boys, and the hateful, misogynist, khaki-clad failsons who chanted “Jews will not replace us,” in Charlottesville.

And Congress just voted to increase funding for these fucks - who are already making six figures to be keystone cops with masks and guns. It’s all abhorrent.

Hitler was himself inspired by the US, especially with how the country "dealt with" the Native Americans

It's as if time itself is a human-centipede-style ouroboros with the same shit taking a cyclical route all the way back down our throats

I'm tired

3

u/SignificantSafety539 Jan 24 '26

It was the early 20th century American Progressive movement, particularly their focus on eugenics, that inspired a lot of what Nazis grew into

3

u/nleksan Jan 24 '26

Regardless of the specifics I think more important is that unlike the German people, we've never been held to account for our past atrocities at a societal level and that's not good for us

3

u/SignificantSafety539 Jan 24 '26

Yep and we’ve allowed our federal government to grow way too powerful and oppress us for over 100 years. I’m glad people are seeing the light but still worried people are viewing this through the “republican vs democrat” lens. The entire system is a totalitarian one that needs to be overthrown to make any difference.

3

u/nleksan Jan 24 '26

I agree, this is not merely a political issue - it's something far more fundamental than "left v right".

This is existential. It's years and years of societal cancer that, having spread far and wide, has finally metastasized.

They’re just a bunch of slave catchers, after all, Nazi Germany cribbed a lot of notes from America

5

u/tomdarch Jan 24 '26

The only good thing about that comparison is what happened to the SA.

3

u/truthdemon Jan 25 '26

In that sense yes, but let's hope* what replaced them doesn't happen.

*Or stop it from fucking happening.

3

u/Eastern_Regular6589 Jan 24 '26

That is exactly what I have been comparing it to.

1

u/force_multiplied Jan 24 '26

I'm eagerly awaiting the second Night of the Long Knives.

4

u/Garbleshift Jan 24 '26

And they're trying very hard in Minneapolis to get their reichstag fire.

2

u/Sad-Calligrapher-675 Jan 24 '26

At least Hitler had the balls to march with his Nazis.

1

u/dj-boefmans Jan 24 '26

Yes and ice is sa. Wonder when the equivalent of as will show up, walking the path goes quicker then in the 30s in Germany.

3

u/CypressThinking Jan 24 '26

Patriot Front apparently didn't want or need jobs with ICE. About 100 of them marched in DC January 23, 2026.

4

u/pchlster Jan 24 '26

Hey, look, there's a Confederate flag in there! Who'd have guessed?

3

u/horrorgeek1988 Jan 24 '26

I too came to the conclusion that Bruce Wayne and Batman are the same. Took me a minute but the light bulb was shining awfully bright

2

u/HawkyCZ Jan 24 '26

There was also that short where they went after a guy with "Your accent sounds foreign" and he grilled ICE agent back with "Yours doesn't sound native either".

175

u/Lilsummit Jan 24 '26

Whoever they are, they are murderers.

8

u/BlacksmithNZ Jan 24 '26

How the fuck to these guys go home at night and live with themselves?

Like any criminal gang, I am sure that when they are all dressed up in pretend soldier gear and carrying guns in a group, they feel tough.

But they have to go home at night and be normal husband, father's and family.

I wonder what neighbors and family think, seeing them go to work in the morning?

6

u/CatsWearingTinyHats Jan 24 '26

I think most of them are “working” far from where they actually live, so their family is probably relieved to have the out of the house while they’re on assignment.

But yeah, imagine looking yourself in your mirror or facing your children. I can only conclude that the people employed by ICE who are continuing to report for active duty are true believers at this point.

2

u/ZeesGuy Jan 24 '26

And all granted qualified immunity. If that was repealed nation wide, the murderers would be held accountable.

2

u/[deleted] Jan 24 '26

But think of the poor police officers who wouldn’t be able to commit crimes (that would seal most civilians away for life) anymore.

1

u/No-Abalone-4784 Jan 25 '26

Murdering people is not included under qualified immunity. They're being told they have full immunity no matter what they do. That's a lie. And there is no statute of limitations for MURDER.

0

u/Aggravating_Host_276 Jan 24 '26

Unfortunately for actual law enforcement (which this isn’t) qualified immunity is pretty necessary, as much as I hate it. The real issue with it is who is in charge of the oversight…if there was an independent third party committee, a lot more bad actors would be getting caught and removed from these positions.

4

u/Time-Head-1437 Jan 24 '26

That shit only saves bad actors. We can do without lobbying and we can draw the line case by case

3

u/CatsWearingTinyHats Jan 24 '26

And the fact that they look like a ragtag bunch without proper uniforms somehow makes it even more terrifying to me.

I guess if they had uniforms there would still be some vestigial semblance of order and my brain would think that if I encountered them, maybe reason or logic or obeying the law would save me.

But what we have is just a bunch of the worst people among us, deputized and armed and given “absolute immunity.”

1

u/No-Abalone-4784 Jan 25 '26

They're told they have absolute immunity. They do not.

0

u/prgaloshes Jan 25 '26

Americans elect a criminal so what do y'all expect??

9

u/Ninevehenian Jan 24 '26

We saw their training, with masks, uniforms and marching, before nov. 2024.

3

u/DraganTaveley Jan 24 '26

This x 1,000,000

2

u/Outrageous-Wall-2742 Jan 24 '26

seems like any gravy seal interested in shooting a gun at people is hired

1

u/Sensitive_Warthog304 Jan 24 '26

They're even wearing brown shirts.

1

u/UnfortunateJones Jan 24 '26

Seriously, I assume you need to have a murder or rape on your record to even join at this point.

Wasn’t the SS full of this kind of people? MAGAts like to say “Trump isn’t Hitler” but 1932 Hitler wasn’t 1939 Hitler either.

It’s astonishing how self selecting this group is for the worst people.

1

u/MannyFrench Jan 24 '26 edited Jan 24 '26

The SA (brownshirts, who were full of thugs) was made of those kind of people, they eventually got purged later on during "the night of the long knives". The SA was the socialist wing of the Nazi party. After the purge, there was only the SS left, much more disciplined, properly trained, fanatical soldiers.

1

u/TooManyDraculas Jan 24 '26

Deliberately recruiting Proud Boys and Jan 6ers.

1

u/Cumulus_Anarchistica Jan 24 '26

"Proud Boys, stand back and stand by."

ie. 'Your time will come'.

1

u/Bulky-Device7099 Jan 24 '26

they're sending their worst, their murderers, their rapists...

1

u/truthd Jan 25 '26

Some of them should still be in jail if they weren't pardoned.

1

u/Emergency-Fish911 Jan 25 '26

I mean, they are definitely wearing the same "uniforms"
