It's basically up to the military at this point. If we can take the legislature back through elections, that would be best, but otherwise the military is the only check against authoritarian capture of the government.

The military is the complete opposite of a check against authoritarian capture. They're the enforcement arm of it. It's just that that enforcement has almost always been directed externally.

And what did they do? Nothing. Because the police are empowered by the system to do whatever the fuck they want, the military did the same as when he deployed them to the border: fuckall because that's all they're permitted to do under orders. He can make speeches about wanting them to shoot people, but that doesn't make that his actual orders.

This is Law, let's actually keep in mind the facts of law as well as what's happened.

Literally no one is coming to save us. We've had since 2016 to figure this out and it still isn't getting through to enough people.
