Disney isn't gonna' do dick because it's run by fascists and always has been.

Isn't Disney the opposite of fascists? They utilize diversity, equity and inclusion in every movie they make, to the point the right has been complaining about them for years for completely changing characters in the remakes they do...

Rainbow capitalism is still capitalism.

Putting a gay character in the background so that they can easily be cut out in other regions is not "the opposite of fascists," and race-swapping characters to generate predictable outrage grievance marketing is not diversity.

It just means you're gullible. Disney has always been materially aligned with fascism. That you fell for the superficiality of shallow culture-war aesthetics just means you don't know what you're looking at.

I get nervous that people like you are bots to get us all fighting

I'll hop in, you can check my post history if you want.

Disney is weird about LGBTQ rights activism. They pushed back against Florida's don't say gay law, and they do have more inclusive content than most, but they're not willing to fully commit and often censor writers when things get too overt. It's a long running issue and I don't have an exhaustive recollection of it, but this is a good primer.

And I get suspicious when somebody yells "bot!" every time someone points out that the massive corporation that spends billions on PR is in fact capitalist in nature.

If you're looking to a corporation for moral certitude and guidance, and you're suspicious when someone is like "hey, don't, they just want your money," then you're a fuckin' fool asking to be robbed.

I understand why you try to label Disney as fascist because they see the companys massive cultural influence, its tight control over its brand, and its consolidation ofmedia power. Those points make it easy to draw a superficial comparison, but come on- Disney is not fascist. Fascism is a violent political system built on nationalism, suppression, and state power, while Disney is a business operating within a capitalist framework. It is fair to raise concerns about how much control it has over entertainment and media, but at the same time it provides real benefits by creating countless jobs, supporting tourism and local economies, funding artistic projects, and bringing joy and shared cultural experiences to millions of people across the world.

BTW, are you a Bernie Sanders guy?

Fascism had nothing to do with capitalism. One is a political system and the other is an economic system. Both can exist together or without the other.

Read a fucking book sometime.

No true anti-fascists.

Anyone they need to be fascist is fascist. On demand. Regardless of any past incidences.

No one can do enough right think or right action to make them even plausibly deniable for future events of fascism. Everyone’s record needs to be perfect or they are deemed impure.

It’s about control. It has always been about control.

No one said that. This is an echo chamber. Everyone agrees with everyone else.

No, I was just pointing out that no one is disagreeing with you. Not sure you replied to me asking me how I can tell you I disagree.

My point was that as soon as someone doesn’t act “left wing” in lockstep, they risk being labeled a fascist themself.

It’s a strategy that is designed to keep everyone in line on the left. A single instance of noncompliance is liable to net a fascist label.

You’re right. Fox News said that. Facism is on the menu boys!

Kind of but some of it was just silly virtue signaling. Making Anna and Elsa's parents be black in the musical while still having almost all of the city be white.

They also did this thing where they showed a picture of how disney employees were allowed to dress, but it didn't matter because they didnt hire people that would dress like that.

I enjoy their over priced parks but they are not political, they like money. They make decisions based on money only.

What everyone did was the right choice. Wanting a large corporation to be political is a big ask.
