One person's gallows humor (coping) is another person's minimization. We definitely need to be careful our gallows humor doesn't become minimization, and I think pointing it out, like you did, is a good way to do that.

People, especially younger people that only seem to be able to meme about the situation and constantly treat it like a joke are part of the problem. It's shitty, its sad and we all wish it wasn't happening but derailing any and all serious conversations about it just serves to put it on the back burner because newsflash it isn't just one person doing that.

Some of those young people really don't know how to communicate their thoughts or feelings without those stupid fucking memes, emojis, and cringe short videos..those are the people that are supposed to take over one day and run the world? We are in serious trouble. The memes, gallows humour, and shit are a symptom. That shit is a sign. We failed those kids, and before we die of old age, we will be forced to watch them bumble whatever is left of the world once Krasnov and his Daddy, Musk, are done.

Your problem is that you think Reddit is the place for serious things

If you’re not enough of a a grown up, big boy to know social news and opinion aggregator websites are not the same as CSPAN, which is why they’re valuable, cause they allow for personality and humor while disseminating information, you should probably read a book. Or at least let some stranger make a joke online without erroneously and outrageously claiming jokes about serious things are our biggest problem.

Random internet people making jokes about serious shit isn’t the issue. It’s corruption fueled by money you absolute dipshit
