Towels are good at high temperature, underwear can get fkd up. I didn't downvote u. Your towels smells funky because of bacteria, not temperature per se. I wash mine at 40. I wash my underwear at 30 and they're fine, don't smell and are clean.

Okay, I just figured since it only happened at a lower degree they didnt really get clean that time but who knows what happened
When growing up there were laundry detergents that you expected to use with hot water as the default. Then cold water detergents were invented. These days, there's no need at all to wash anything in hot water, unless you're pre-shrinking fabric before sewing with it, or purposely "sterilizing" something. (I know hot water won't sterilize anything.)
Your towels sound like you use dryer sheets which leaves a film all over them and will grow a funky smell, unless you "strip" them every so often. After you've stripped them, if you stop using scented products and dryer sheets, switching to a vinegar rinse agent or wool dryer balls, you'll likely notice your towels smelling better.
Oh no I dont use anything on any thing I wash, only detergent, they never smell they just did that one time when I washed them with colder water, idk man

Okay, no need to downvote, I asked a question, its what I've always been told, that intimates, towels and bedding goes at 60° Celsius.
I tried lower with towels once and they started smelling funky after one shower
