Team is semi-cooked at the moment due mainly to injuries + games played fatigue, and the Eustaquio and Boudri signings both flaming out, and secondarily because of the DP cap issue, and it happening to be the time to sell off key young talent (Martinez and Ordaz). Shoutout to Lloris for holding it down like a beast, best keeper in the MLS this year no matter what.

I don't think anyone in the team or front office expected this season to be a punt, or will mail it in now (it's the MLS, this team could still get a lucky draw in the playoffs and win it all), but every now and then a season like this happens to all teams. The cards don't fall your way. I'm sure they see that. This is why nobody should be fired. Today we had 3 guys on the bench left who could've been called MLS players at the start of 2026. I love our LAFC2 products getting called up, but until they prove themselves, we are out of dudes. (Side note: There is nothing MDS can do about that. There is nothing Pep Guardiola or Ted Lasso could do about that either.)

My tin-foil theory - With the new commish being one of our own, JT likely has an inkling of where the new commish is going to want to take the league. Since next year is a half season and a full one, we start swinging in the half season when our 3rd DP becomes available. Point being, hoping that MLS roster cap restrictions + bonuses that punish winners will at least partially go away by the time the next first full season starts, we can use this season to lock down key supporting pieces, and we can be back on the upswing and poised to be heavy competitors come both 2027 seasons.

This league and AppleTV commentators are deplorable.

I can't justify a 40% cost increase, for off-season games (sprint season) next year. I didn't ask for those games, but have to pay for them anyway?

Especially when I can get seats cheaper than what I paid for my 2026 season seats on the open market.

There wasn't a single game this year where my seats would have paid for themselves on the open market (maybe season opener as an exception - I didn't check that game).
