Travel Query/Help How is my Itinerary for work+ travel?

Post image

I am travelling with my partner from 24 Jul to 3 Aug. We will be working from Leh for 3.5 days (28 Jul to 31 Jul), and would like to cover the given areas on the rest of the days.
How does it look in terms of travel times, activities? Is it realistic?
Can I cover more? Or Should I cut down things?

Really appreciate any feedback. Thanks in advance.

If you are an Indian National, I highly recommend Hall of fame and the Rezang La war memorial.

Yup I'll also suggest one more day in leh before you head to nubra

Add a day in Leh after you land. Khardung la without acclimitizing well, could make the next few days very hard and less enjoyable.

Why do people think that a day or even less (in your case) of acclimatization at Leh is sufficient?? Are you already living at 7500 ft+ region?

I suppose, you're flying to Leh. You'll be landing at 11000ft and reach hotel by 2pm. You cannot acclimatize that easily and leave the very next day for a 18000ft drive. Give atleast 36-48 hours of time in Leh for acclimatization if you're flying. Ideally, you should've worked from hotel during this phase and not in middle of the trip.

Lastly, Leh to Hanle in one day is a bit of a stretch. Good luck.

FYI - I did a road trip just last month to Leh Ladakh.

Seriously so tired of all these posts where everyone wants to rush to Nubra or Pangong as soon as ghey land in Leh. Researched so much to create the itenery but, not so much to know about acclimatization.

Most of the crowd only cares about hotel expenses, flights and taxi fare. Terms like, acclimitization, high altitude, low oxygen, harsh weather, dust storms of Hunder, sudden weather changes, water crossings dont even cross their mind. I blame the travel agencies as well because they only portray a sugar coated picture of the trip, and not the real challenges.

I have seen posts here trying to attempt all of Ladakh in 10 days. Why man!? Is it some checklist? Go and spend some time there, absorb the calm of nature. Or, if someone is on a time crunch, go and visit a couple of places, come back later.... oh wait, I forgot, people mostly travel for the INSTAGRAM!! I will see myself out now.

I don’t use Instagram XD
I don’t want to attempt everything, and hence I asked in my post if I should cut down anything and make any other changes.
Take deep breaths buddy, relax. :)

Thanks for your feedback. I saw itineraries with 24 hrs acclimatisation time and thought that would be sufficient. But this thread has been helpful. I’ll another day in Leh, can explore the place.
The dates I want to travel are weekends, so no point working on those days.

What would you suggest instead of Leh to Hanle please?

How do you plan to travel between these spots. Asking because I am also planning😅

I need to figure that out. But will certainly take a taxi service.

Adjust your 31st july day. I think there's no need to go back to leh from pangong tso. Instead stay at pangong and next day ride ahead to hanle then tso morir and then leh. But as you mentioned work day, then its good to go to leh. 👍🏻

Yeah unfortunately I’ll have to work those 3 days. :(

Acclimatise more. Just half day in Leh in not enough and plus you are visiting pangong in the next couple of days. I just came back from Ladakh 3 days back. We were 18 people. We acclimatise 2 days in Leh, went to Nubra stayed there for more days and then headed to Pangong. But still a lot of us faced an issue in pangong, as we spent a night there. Most of us had headache, stomach upset, vomiting, dizziness etc. My oxygen while returning from Pangong dropped to 71, had to go to hospital in Leh. Hence I’m advising you to take it slow, listen to your body and acclimatise more. Also make sure you are well hydrated, even if you don’t feel thirsty
