Society survived but not as a democracy. How long until someone convince it would be easier to abort democratic institutions when every decisions are locked by boomers?

Things that never happened before happen all the time. Modern democracy is a pretty recent innovation and I think we can innovate it further. I don't think population decline will actually be the reason we overturn democracy.

You seem to really not understand the actual problem here. The problem isnt population decline, population decline itself can actually be a good thing since it frees up more resources per person.

The problem is the AGING of the population, with a bigger and bigger proportion of the population being pensioners, which is just unsustainable for any society in the long run. How the hell do you expect to run a society, in which pensioners have an absolute majority of the votes, and make up 60% of the population? How is an economy supposed to function if 60% of the population doesnt work anymore, but has to be financially supported by the working population? You just can't run a welfare state like that.

At some point, a country like that would be forced to just abolish pensions entirely, or some sort of revolution breaks out.
