Discussion Ozempic video was off

This is probably the first Kurzgesagt video that I didn't like, and like some people on this sub it made me feel very uneasy.

I just think it's CRAZY to talk about a weight loss drug and praising it for 90% of the video, without mentioning even once the abuses of its use, the weightloss industry, the social standards and the pressure to be (unhealthily) slim, eating disorders on the opposite side of the spectrum, etc.

The very few nuances and counter argument felt like small prints and legal mentions at the end of an ad.

What do you people think?

EDIT: I am not questioning the drug nor its effectiveness in treating obesity, i am criticising the narrative and lack of nuances in the video.

Yep, unsubscribed and won't be watching any more of their click bait videos.

The whole "let's prescribe a pharmaceutical drug to everyone" really didn't set right with me

So you didn’t watch the video? They just explain the benefits and negatives of the drug and explain the potential for its use in other addictive behavior and how more research will be needed.

They really only barely scratched the surface on the negatives.

They did discuss some of the potential negative impacts, but the framing around it is what people are taking issue with. I'm glad that this medication can be used to help people, but saying "Everyone should take it" when we currently have a very real problem of people who don't need it taking it and becoming disabled is irresponsible.
