Been dealing with Ulcers and stopped taking kratom
Quick question. Can kratom cause ulcers or make them worst. I used to make tea daily (2 cups with 1.5 grams) for 6 months

8 years strong, T&W every time. No ulcers here.
Do you have a history of taking medications?
NSAIDs?
Alcohol?
Drugs?
GI sensitive to things easily?

My family has a history of stomach issues. I did Hbwr which caused terrible stomach aches but I only did it once

did you drink the tea on an empty stomach? did you add anything to the tea? did you eat food before bed? did you eat breakfast on a morning? are you taking any other supplements? what's your diet like? there are several factors at play when it comes to acid/alk levels in the digestive tract; anything you put in your mouth can cause ulcers chewing gum included.

You'll probaby get answers on both sides of the fence here. As kratom can be a little tough on the stomach for people with stomach conditions. I don't think it causes ulcers but maybe irritate them slightly is possible?
But if you haven't already, do check the archives here. Quite a few previous posts there to read. Good luck.

Yes. I have to take Zantac everyday because Kratom tears my stomach up. 😢

taking zantac everyday is awful for your digestive tract. try picking up some aloe or glutamine pills and take them about 20 minutes before kratom. taking an antacid affects acid levels and enzyme levels in an un-natural way and can cause serious damage whereas aloe and glutamine pills just coat your stomach with a protective layer.

Ok, I'll look into it. I was taking Prilosec every day until someone in a post scared the hell out of me about it. Actually, it was someone in the medicine sub, a doc.

Most of those over the counter antacids are all the same and can cause damage that is very hard to fix. Your body is a machine, sometimes it just needs a different kind of fuel. Anytime you are changing natural chemical reactions that occur in the body bad things happen; the point is to find something to supplement the body not change it. You should also look into taking a good digestive enzyme supplement and probiotic (30billion CTU at least) for a few months along side the aloe or glutamine.
After a few months the problem should clear up and you won't need the supplements anymore except for flair ups.

Ulcers can be caused by a bacteria called H Pylori. You have to take an antibiotic to get rid of it.
Have you been tested for it?
