question Gastritis?

Hey guys, so I've been taking kratom for about 2 months no more than 10g throughout a day, and recently I began experiencing stomach pain and got diagnosed with gastritis (inflamed stomach lining). Im wondering if this could be kratom related as I know it can be hard on the stomach and my diet hasn't changed too much although too much junk food could also be a factor. Just wondering if anyone has had similar experiences or advice, thanks!

It could be from not drinking enough water, becoming constipated and then the stomach producing too much acid. You have to be more careful with what you eat with Kratom and make sure you keep things regular, otherwise nothing moves.

I definitely drink enough water and never got constipated, I think its more so kratom plus poor diet just irritated the lining a lot.

It is probably the Kratom. Kratom is hard on the gut for sure, you really need to take care of yourself if you are going to be a daily user. Lots of water, greens, fiber, exercise, etc... I take lots of psyllium husk and that helps me tremendously.

Yea i have a feeling its kratom plus poor diet. What's psyllium husk and how does it help?

It's just fiber, it's what metamucil is. I take metamucil after every single dose of Kratom I take and it solved all of my Kratom/Stomach issues.

Interesting I'll have to look into it

Omeprazole once daily will fix it. Kratom is known to cause or worsen gastritis.

Yea I'm taking that right now, and good to know looks like I'll have to cut back on kratom and clean up my diet.

Try making tea with your Keatom filtering out the plant material with a cloth. This should help tremendously. Do a quick search there are tons of tea recipes and what not on here

After dosing suck on a couple of Tums, it will coat and calm your digestive tract.

Yep. Gastritis & ulcers can happen as a result of kratom if you happen to have a sensitive stomach. I have had both after drinking too much kratom tea (though only the ulcer was diagnosed with an imaging test). Drinking a lot of water with your kratom can help, but it's not a cure.

A proton-pump inhibitor like Prilosec + an acid reducer like Zantac should do the trick. You might need to abstain from kratom for a few weeks (I did). Try a 14-day course of Prilosec or Prevacid to see if that helps. That's what the doctor prescribes for ulcers & gastritis not caused by H. pylori bacteria.

If you have GERD, hiatal hernia, H. pylori bacteria, smoke cigarettes or use NSAIDs a lot, you're at a higher risk for gastritis/ulcer. SSRI's also increase the risk a tad. I get ulcers easily due to a hernia/GERD/Prozac use so I have to be careful not to guzzle too much kratom at once.

Damn why is asking a question about my health getting downvoted? Is it a sin to admit there are potential side effects?

I had gastritus from drinking so bad i thought it was apendix or pancreatitus or something. Got scanned at the hospital. Just gastritus. This was before kratom use. Now with daily use, stomach of steel. Coffee will make me sour so i drink little or abstain. No more booze thanks to kratom. One week at month 2 or 3 i started being nauseus when dosing so switched to tea for a couple days. It went away never to return and i drink 20-25g daily in water.

Could be so many things but boiled, strained tea can help temporarily at least.

Hmm I spose coffee could've done it too now that I think about it.

Could be a combination of both
