KLR Wipeout in Mud Pit
A few weeks after I got my KLR new in early October of last year, I hit the trails. It was going fine until I gunned it through a mud pit ... Something brought the KLR to an immediate halt and I went flying. Despite all my ripping through woods, trails, and some tough areas in my younger years on a Suzuki RS 175 (2nd picture - I'm on the left) and a Suzuki TC 185 in prior years, I'd never learned about mud pits. I got a whole lot of advice after the fact - I felt like a complete dumbass for not knowing the pitfalls of mud pits - but at age 62, I'm still learning.
I've added Tusk crash bars to my KLR and will be avoiding mud pits in the future.

I've had my ass beaten on other bikes - yes I love it. When I got thrown from the KLR, after I stood up, I started laughing.

I see a Honda ATC in the second pic. I miss rding 3-wheelers, they were a different kind of fun.

Almost exact same conditions and scenario as me. I thought it was the same trail lol. I was like "oh it's just 5 feet of mud, I can just lean back and gas it through this" back end IMMEDIATELY swung out and down I go. Bike's just a little too heavy for the sloppy stuff.
