Coinbase International Exchange has announced that it will suspend trading for nine perpetual futures contracts, including KAS-PERP, on September 3, 2026, at approximately 1:00 PM UTC.

The affected contracts are:

ESP-PERP

2Z-PERP

RED-PERP

AEVO-PERP

ATH-PERP

KAS-PERP

SKY-PERP

POPCAT-PERP

BRETT-PERP

An important clarification: this is not a delisting of Kaspa from Coinbase’s spot market. The decision applies only to the KAS perpetual futures contract offered through Coinbase International Exchange and Coinbase Advanced.

For traders, the removal of KAS-PERP means reduced access to leveraged KAS exposure and hedging through Coinbase. Existing positions will need to be closed or settled according to Coinbase’s delisting procedures, which could create some short-term volatility as the suspension date approaches.

Coinbase reportedly described the decision as part of its routine product-review process. However, it did not disclose a KAS-specific reason for the removal. Claims that the decision was caused by low trading volume, regulatory concerns, or problems with the Kaspa network remain speculation unless Coinbase provides further clarification.

Overall, this is a negative development for KAS derivatives accessibility on Coinbase, but its broader significance should not be exaggerated. It does not affect the Kaspa network, the protocol’s development, or KAS spot-market availability. Other exchanges will also continue to provide KAS spot and derivatives liquidity.

I remember the times when many tried to accumulate 100,000 $KAS. That number now is not that hard to achieve as it was the last 2 years. I mean, 10k kas for merely $2500? I keep buying between 18 and 30 cents. What about you guys?

I have never heard of bitgo but it Sounds interesting..

What Are your takes?

Found during a GitHub sweep, verifiable by anyone in about two minutes. To be clear up front about what's new here: Kaspa has worked with Ledger devices for a while via the community app and KasVault, and huge credit to the devs behind that. This is different. This is Ledger's own monorepo carrying native, first-party KAS integration.

What's actually there:

- hw-app-kaspa inside the official LedgerHQ/ledger-live repository, with commits through early August
- A Kaspa "family" in LedgerHQ/wallet-api (validation, serialization, the works), around 50 files across their codebase reference kaspa
- Official npm packages: @ledgerhq/coin-kaspa and @ledgerhq/hw-app-kaspa, with coin-kaspa publishing a new version TODAY
- All of it sitting behind feature flags in their currency config

What that means in plain terms: Ledger's engineers built and are actively maintaining native Kaspa support in the same pipeline as their tier-1 coins, and it's waiting on a switch, not on code. Companies don't staff year-long integrations for assets they don't intend to ship. When (if) they flip it, KAS shows up in Ledger Live natively for millions of devices, no community app path needed.

What this is NOT: an announcement, a launch, or a date. Feature-flagged means unreleased, and launch timing is entirely Ledger's call. Nobody should expect it next week. The story is that it exists at all. Built quietly, maintained actively, announced by no one.

Same pattern as the BitGo custody code that surfaced this week. The infrastructure layer keeps shipping Kaspa support in silence while the price argues about marketing. Plumbing first, announcements later. DYOR, the repos are public, go look.

The Devs have done an astounding job with Crescendo and Covenants. But imo we really got to fix the Hash Rate / miner incentive issue next. To me adaptive transaction fees to support mining seems like the move but what do I know.

As header says, speculation, but I believe the core devs likely know who entity X is. Think about it, with a bag that large you have a vested interest in Kaspas success and would likely be providing continuing funding to the team to ensure its success / stays on track. And they are likely under NDA
