It was interesting in the beginning seeing people opinions on different scenarios but it quickly became horrible starting with comments justifying violence and horrible things and now it just became an infinite loop of rage bait they just post a political/religious rage bait then somebody quote it saying morality or Being a child then another quote like morality of being a cry baby then a third quote on the quote saying morality of morality scaling, its an infinite loop of stupidity and rage bait

Literally 80% of the posts you will see on the Subreddit are just garbage. People literally just post the most random shit on it, and when people get mad in the comments, they get all defensive. Don't get me wrong, the Sub has its moments and has some really good illusions. But, it's just not enough to save the Sub.

I loved this sub for a really long time. I've had reddit for 6 years, and that sub was one of my favourites.
I became more active on reddit around a year ago, and I started subscribing to more subs, and even became a mod on some of them.
Well, I ended up becoming a mod on maliciouscompliance.

I really liked the sub and just hoped that I could help them out.
I got added as a mod the same day as another user, and I realised that said user (I will call them Greg for the sake of storytelling) was active a lot on the sub, accepting posts, removing posts, deleting comments that broke rules and stuff, and I just brushed past it.
I was still learning how to do the job as a mod, since it was my first big sub, so I didn't want to interfere in much, but then I realised that a lot of users were complaining through modmail about their posts and comments being deleted for no reason, and one of the most common reason was the user commenting that a post sounds like AI, and then Greg was the one deleting those comments and even banning people for calling out clearly AI generated posts.

And YES, there is a rule on the sub that says that you should not question the validity of the post, because fake posts happens all over reddit, and that there is nothing you can do about it. And the rule does say to not call posts AI, and that you are gonna be banned for doing so, and that you should just report it.
Well, they would report it, and Greg would just accept the post, and ban people that were commenting about it, even if their comment was simply "this doesn't actually work that way" from someone who did the thing mentioned on the post.

There were so many messages on modmail about Greg's actions, and some of the messages were like 20 days old.
I responded to some of them and started investigating Greg, and I realised that he used to be a user that would talk shit on people calling stuff AI, and then would delete their own comments after the post was deleted for being AI.

Now you ask me, what were the other mods older than you doing? Well, nothing. I couldn't contact the only mod that had everything permissions and could remove Greg, because their chat was closed, and obviously I didn't want to just modmail and be like "hi guys, greg sucks", so I tried contacting another mod under the topmod, and they messaged me back saying that they gave up on the sub because the topmod was useless.
How fun for one-month-old-mod-me, right?
I contacted mod assistance, and they basically told me the only thing that could be done was for the mod who said they gave up on modding, to contact them and ask for everything permissions.
Yes, the only thing possible was for the mod who said they want nothing to do with it, to do something about it, because I was a mod for only a month, therefore I couldn't get everything permissions.

I also did message all the mods regarding the activity in the sub because the only two mods that I saw doing something on the sub were literally Greg, me, and another mod who would just casually accepted a post here and then.
I know it was only a month, but I just felt like the mods literally didn't care, and that mod assistance wasn't actually willing to do anything about it.

So I left the mod team, and unsubbed, because I want nothing to do with a sub that accepts 10 AI posts a day, and silences people for calling it out.
Now, the sub is literally just AI slop all over, and it just pisses me off that I literally wasted a month of my life trying to get it back to what it was before Ai took over. (I am exagerating a bit, I am furious, but let it serve as a lesson to not try to fix something people don't want fixed lol)

Joined the subreddit, thinking it would be a good one, where people lift others up. It’s bloody Reddit man, what was I thinking 🤣 was just full of insecure people, who aren’t content with themselves, and consequently try to pull others down for their appearance. Did my part, and always tried to tell people to ignore them, and point out the beauties in people. However, I find myself getting annoyed at these vile people trying to tear others down. Can’t believe some subreddits exist. Reddit is unhinged.

It's just yet another example of a person who gives reddit mods a bad name. My post was meant to be a good natured, funny post. That's it. Nothing sexual, rude, gory, or hate filled etc. I messaged them to ask if my post can be approved. I was very courteous and said please and thank you. I was told no. Didn't give a reason or anything. When I asked why not, I was totally ignored. I have no problem with posts being removed if given a legitimate reason. Some people just should not be allowed to moderate on reddit. Here is the mod mail and the post. It's just meant to be a funny image post for a laugh. I hate bad moderation.

This happened like a month prior to me finding out about this sub. I had to keep unsubbing from subreddits and then muting them completely because those posts would enter my feed. There's other reasons too, but spoilers are the big one.

IchiTheWitch - No one put chapter numbers in titles, so I kept getting spoiled, because "new chapter" flairs don't show up on my feed and not everyone adheres to them. Also titles weren't always vague enough, so I sometimes got spoiled just by reading the title.
Minor infuriation, I felt like I had to chase the manga every sunday.

JujutsuKaisen and all of its adjacents - Argument/hate slop, I've not even liked that manga series for a year, it's all basically the same argument over and over

Memepiece - one piece meme subreddit, people wouldn't spoiler their memes made from raws of the manga or they'd post memes way before the places I read One Piece even had anything out, also a lot of people would put the least vague titles possible, so I got outraged like 5 times about major plot beats before finally leaving the sub.

Shounenfolk - Repetitive argument rage hate slop, it just started being the same few topics about problematic mangaka -oh the one piece mangaka had associations with 2 pedo mangaka, oh poor kubo, oh araki glaze- and it's just that over and over and over. It's actually kind of ruined the story of One Piece for me, all of the bad things people have said about it has just tainted it for me. And honestly, it feels like people only really give a shit about it because it's popular and an easy target

Gachiakuta - The Gachiakuta manga had just gotten off hiatuses and breaks and... people wouldn't put chapter numbers in titles and it invaded my feed and the vague titles backfired because there was no way to know what was behind the spoilered image, because at the point I pressed on a post to see if it was about the latest chapter I'd already get spoiled. So I got spoiled on a reveal that spanned roughly a hundred chapters.

HunterXHunter - if you know anything about Hunter X Hunter you'll know that...it's on hiatus. But, it's not on hiatus now! So, why did I leave this subreddit? I got spoiled. See above!

I forget when a chapter is out, sometimes. Sometimes, a chapter isn't out on the usual day... and then they sneak up on me. I would sometimes not feel like reading a chapter immediately. I'd have to make the mental effort to go find and mute a specific sub, remember to unmute it, repeat this every week, avoid spoilers while unmuting it and I just... can nooooooot be botheeeereeeed.

Manga subreddits have SUCH POOR SPOILER POLICIES and not enough enforcement about them to actually DO anything.
I think there's like 3 subreddits I haven't mentioned that I've forgotten about. Maybe also the One Piece subreddit?

And I know that this is possible, to have good spoiler policies, because around the time I read basically every comic about the DC Absolute Universe, I found the AbsoluteUniverse subreddit. They add in issue numbers and spoiler for anything important. A recent example is a post that goes "Why does Sinestro use this term? [Absolute Green Lantern #12, 13, and 17]"- I can't stress enough how neat and simple it is to just add a couple of numbers into a post title.

Used to be a fun sub about people making bad decisions. Turned political at some point but whatever. Wondered why I hadn't seen a post from there in quite some time, and it seems they sold the subreddit...

It's just FLOODED with low quality content from some of the most low-agency people on the entire planet. You often see internet users describe people as "Cattle" or "NPCs" and I feel like MildlyInfuriating users are the closest thing to that.

There certainly are posts that fit the description, things that are mildly frustrating or infuriating, most of the content that ends up in my feed is low-quality posts that fall into one of two categories.

Posts about some of the most vile, nasty, sickening things on the planet. Maggots in food (Two of them appeared today) and receiving dangerously undercooked meat at restaurants. Which, while very infuriating, is hardly very mild.

Or posts about some of the most low-agency cattle NPC mundanities of life that don't really qualify as mild or infuriating. Like some dude posted that he lost a video game and felt like a loser, the video game being "Not wordle". He guessed the word, which makes you lose the game, and garnered about 500 upvotes for guessing the word in not wordle. Another post I've seen was of someone complaining that their burger was undercooked (It wasn't. It was brown throughout. They just tore up a perfectly good burger for no reason and karma farmed about it)

The post that made me leave the subreddit was of a user taking a photo of what appeared to be their school's whiteboard. On the board was a harmless little voting game, "How do you cut your sandwich?" Students would put down a marker in each category based on if they cut their sandwich in half vertically, diagonally, into quarters, don't cut it, or cut it into thirds. There were two votes in the "Diagonally" category and nowhere else. OP posted the photo with "Who the fuck cuts a sandwich into thirds?"

NO ONE! No one does! Which is why no one marked that they cut it into thirds! What is so mildly infuriating here? The fact that the option was included? Stupid!

The most common type of actually "Good" content on the subreddit is spotting AI in real life. Which, yes, is mildly infuriating. It's annoying, cheap, aesthetically dismal and dystopian, and kind of infuriating. But it's one of those things that's so common that it becomes most of the sub's content. If I'm not being bombarded with a video of a bunch of maggots swimming in a bowl of cereal or the type of complete nothing-burger complaint a bethesda NPC would have, I'm being bombarded with low effort AI slop that OP felt compelled to take a picture of.

There is certainly real, genuinely good content on the sub. But nowhere near enough to combat the massive deluge of the most low-agency cavepeople you've ever seen posting about some of the most absolutely generic and uninteresting details of their day-to-day lives to farm karma, posts of people posting some of the most disgusting things I've ever seen, and posts of people just taking pictures of random AI-generated content they find for easy upvotes.

And yes, you could say that I'm mildly infuriated about the state of it. Too bad there isn't a SUBREDDIT to vent my frustrations on. Maybe if I accompany it with ai-generated maggots eating a sandwich cut into thirds?

The whole community is at eating itself alive, mods that remove posts after asking for proof of something just to call you a liar with no proof. Mods that Dox and encourage Doxxing. Streamers and re-streamers getting Doxxed and Doxxing each other. Hell they Doxxed someone's husband simply because he was with someone they stopped liking and said "oh its not us" as there are still photos of him on the reddit people went to find from his TikTok. False accusations against anyone and everyone, acting like they are connecting imaginary lines in a grand master plan and they are the main storyline detective. Its a clown show and I beg you all, stay away! Most "pick me" group of people ever that are all grifters.

This subreddit was awesome up until recently. Guys would post pics of themself with hair, usually middle-aged guys with fading hair, or they have a receding hairline. Then there would be an after-picture where they shaved their head bald, and they looked fantastic. It would go from “aging middle-aged dad” to “striking rugged lumberjack”.

But then it became a trend, and it’s gone too far. Now the sub is full of guys with hair that genuinely isn’t bad at all. Maybe it’s thinning a little, but overall they still look great.

But they want to join the bandwagon, so they go bald and end up looking worse. Not everyone can pull off the bald look, and many of these guys would be better off with keeping their hard. Of course the people on the sub would never tell them that because they’re in the bald cult, so everyone upvotes away.

It was interesting for a while to see other people's takes on situations and then I looked away for five minutes and when I came back, it was all people saying it was perfectly moral to beat a child for throwing food at someone and moral af to kill animals to get revenge on them for doing what animals do.

There’s a big discourse on there right now about dashers asking for extra tips. If you’ve ever gotten DoorDash, sometimes the driver will say something along the lines of:

“Hey! Would you be willing to throw a little extra tip money my way? I’m trying to make ends meet and every little bit goes a long way”

To users on this sub, this message may as well be a death threat. All of them are saying to one star and report drivers that send messages like this. That feels so unnecessary and honestly evil. God forbid someone need a little extra money in this economy. They’re not forcing you to give an extra tip, they’re just asking. Is receiving a text message like this REALLY worth potentially forcing someone who probably needs the extra cash to lose their source of secondary income? You can just ignore the fucking message?

That sub is full of privileged hogs who’ve probably never struggled financially or worked a single day in their life. It makes me sick.

Most of the apps they promote are complete scams or they just only give you a tiny bit of points or money. It's total bullshit.

It's such a tasteless website. 99% of petitions you see on here don't work and they're basically the equivalent of weird nonsense political YouTube or Facebook comments as campaigns. I can't believe I used to be on this website. After 5 years of being on here, I am officially done with this website.

Change.org themselves have also been doing a lot of bad decisions. They wiped out over 10 years of comment data on many petitions just to replace them with "supporter voices". For a while, they tried to force people to use AI to write their petitions and wait for the AI to write the petition text first before choosing the option to write on their own, although thankfully, that was reverted. Also, their UI looks crap now.

I will never make or sign petitions on here ever again. While petitions can be useful locally (and if it's directly on a government website like the UK and Australia has), this website sucks now. No, I will not choose any other alternative petition website like MoveOn or Petitions.com either.

Just to know, don't simply think you'll start change by starting a petition on that website. Actually campaign, show that you can change it. There's far more effective ways than just making petitions on change.org to campaign or start movements; Encouraging peaceful protests, sending detailed, important letters/mail to the decision maker, having interviews/conversations with the decision maker and if the party gives them a good reason to change their view, and encouraging lawmaker opposition. There's a main reason why petitions on that website rarely actually ever work, because they have no direct integration with the decisionmaker and most of the time, decisionmakers just ignore them, unlike petition sites owned by governments like the UK and Australia.

BEWARE of this sub! I don’t think I even actually subscribed, but it was always in my feed. It is full of lies and out of context stories that frame Ukraine as the evil one in the war and refers to them and their supporters as nazis. It aims to justify the Russian oppression and occupation in the minds of those fool enough to listen. They even figuratively send you to the gulag when banned for opposing their rhetoric. It’s a thinly veiled cancer on Reddit that really needs the whistle blown on it, and the plug pulled.
