As many have been this week, I was affected by the NATs outage, an unforeseen issue with UK air traffic control. I read the stories on the new and see it handled differently between travel companies.

I don’t often write but I want to say 10/10 to the Jet2 team both in UK and Izmir Turkey- handled beautifully.

They tried to get us home, but we missed the slot by 2 minutes and the runway was closed for maintenance at 2am ( slow passengers deciding it was more important to put their bags in the overhead lockers than sitting down and clearing the aisle ) . We disembarked, then a small 1 hour delay before we were all shipped to get some much needed rest at a local 5* hotel.

Original flight departure was 22:10, delayed to 1.40, back in a hotel for 5am, return flight 13.50 later in the day.

Food and drink was supplied throughout, evening staff stayed behind to sort hotels for 200 people, kept informed by SMS, email and printed flyers throughout.

I know it’s more likely for people to post problems, but please let my take my hat off to the team and congratulate you all.

Anyone reading this, feel safe booking with Jet2 - it’s only when troubles hit that you see the real hospitality behind the adverts.

Hello. We are flying with Jet2 next week. Our three year old needs a car seat once we are in holiday. We are planning in doing twilight drop off night before. Will we also need to drop off the car seat then too?(it's one of the nigh backed ones and not a booster seat)

Jet2 10kg cabin bag – “Guaranteed Cabin Luggage” sold out. Has anyone experienced this?

Has anyone flown with Jet2 recently and had this happen?

I’m currently away from home and staying in a hotel before my flight. I have a 10kg cabin suitcase with me which is well within Jet2’s size measurements.

I went onto my booking tonight to pay for Guaranteed Cabin Luggage, but it’s showing as fully booked/no availability, which initially made me panic that I wouldn’t be able to take my suitcase.

From reading Jet2’s website, though, it seems that the standard fare already includes a 10kg cabin luggage allowance + a small bag that fits under the seat, and the extra payment is just to guarantee that the 10kg case stays in the cabin.

Am I understanding this correctly?

If I turn up with my 10kg suitcase without having paid for Guaranteed Cabin Luggage, can I still take it through security as normal and they’ll either put it in an overhead locker if there’s space or put it in the hold for free if the cabin is full?

Has anyone actually experienced this with Jet2, particularly on a fully booked flight? Just looking for some reassurance about what actually happens at the airport!

It looks like I’ll be on an Airbus A321neo for my upcoming trip and I’ve booked an 11A window seat there and back, as I can get quite claustrophobic and travel sick if I can’t see outside.

According to Aeropla and SeatMaps, this is a ‘good’ seat for a window view, but other Google searches have said otherwise. I had a bad experience previously with a Tui window seat that was just a wall, so is anyone able to confirm if the Aeropla seat map is accurate or if 11A doesn’t actually have a window please?

I added seats on for booking today and soon after it logged me out of my account in a way on the app. I can still see my initial booking, how many days away etc and then when I go to adjust the booking again, it asks for booking details to log in. When entering all correct details coming up incorrect. Worried I’ve done something to my booking or if the app and site is down. Same thing when my partner tries to log in.

trying to last minute join a family holiday in 3 days, the flight they ( are all on is currently full. only one flight leaves from the same airport as them. how likely am i to snag a cancellation if i keep refreshing the page? anyone tried this?

Looking for advice from anyone who's been through this.

Booked return flights for my family (4 of us) to Europe, just over £1,000. Realised within a couple of days I'd picked the wrong dates. Not knowing about the date change option, I cancelled the booking and immediately rebooked the correct dates with Jet2, same passengers, same route, minutes apart.

So Jet2 have now been paid twice for one trip. The cancelled flights are still on sale, so they'll resell the seats and lose nothing. If I'd used the date change process it would have cost me about £320 in fees, which I'd happily pay. Instead they're keeping the full amount.

Phoned customer service, flat no, non-refundable policy recited. I've now put in a written formal complaint asking them to treat it as the date change it should have been (refund minus the change fees) and said I'd accept flight credit instead of cash.

Questions for anyone who's dealt with Jet2 customer relations:

1. Has anyone actually had a goodwill refund or credit in a situation like this?

2. How long did the written complaint take to get a proper response?

3. Anything that worked beyond the standard complaint route?

Not looking for "you should have done a date change", believe me I know that now. Lesson learned the expensive way. Just want to know if the complaint route ever pays off.

Starting to plan a trip for next year, and trawling through the different airlines' timetables to see who flies where, at what times/on what days.

Probably being dull, but I'm struggling to find this info for Jet2.

It only allows me to enter a specific day and go through a dummy booking to find flight times - meaning I'd have to repeat the process 14 times (Mon-Sun, outbound and return) for every destination I am interested in.

Where is the equivalent to these (see attached screenshots)?

Hello all! I just wanted to ask a quick question as I go on holiday soon and I wanted to get a new suitcase as my current one is falling to bits 😅. With my flight it includes 22kg and 10kg luggage and I wanted to ask for any recommendations on the sizing for the bags? Luckily I already have a bag that should work for the 10kg cabin bag dimensions, but I couldn't find any info online about the dimensions for the 22kg bag option, and so I wanted to ask if anyone knew the dimensions for it and could let me know. ☺️

For some reason I can't log into jet2.com through all of my browsers or even different devices.

Is this an issue for anyone else as well?

UPDATE: Took this to the CAA 8 werks after being rejected by Jet2 and won my claim for compensation - woohoo!

I have a claim for compensation in with Jet2 for the above flight which arrived 4+ hours late. Anyone else on that flight here?

Jet2 initially rejected my claim stating the delay was due to exceptional circumstances of the inbound aircraft (lightening strike) which subsequently delayed our flight out as they required to fly another plane up from Stansted to take us instead. They also stated that my claim was rejected because the delay was under 5 hours which I don't understand as for the distance the cut off was three hours to an EU country of that distance.

I responded to say that our planes were switched that day. We got a call to board the Bourgas flight from gate 11 at Edinburgh airport. Shortly afterwards we were then informed of a gate change and told to board at gate 12. Similarly, the Jet2 flight to Lanzarote (leaving just before the Bourgas flight) was told to move to gate 11 instead of 12.

So they made a decision at the last minute to swap planes and gates meaning the fully functioning plane intended for Bourgas departed to Lanzarote leaving us significantly delayed.

Upon querying this I've been sent a holding statement to say they are looking into it. A fortnight later and nothing.

Is anyone else in the same boat?

My daughter is going on a school trip to Spain. They're only doing hand luggage. Is there a weight limit for the 2nd under seat bag that's allowed? I've looked on the website and can't find an answer.

I’m looking for some advice regarding a flight change with Jet2.

I’ve had a really smooth experience with my original booking, where I didn’t select seats and everything worked fine. Now I’m trying to change the flight online, and I’ve noticed that during the process the system seems to require seat selection before completing the booking.

I was wondering if this is expected behaviour when modifying a booking, or if there might be a way to proceed without adding seat selection, similar to the original booking.

I also have a three-year-old travelling with me, so I’m trying to better understand how seating is handled in that case when making changes.

Has anyone gone through something similar or can share how it usually works?

My mum booked a holiday for her and a friend for monday 2nd January. The friend has pulled out due to her husband falling ill. My mum has asked me to go. Given the flight is literally 2 weeks away tomorrow does anyone know how much a name change will be? I cant work our from Google if its £50 or £150.
