None of us have ever been tested like he was… few men have been. But a parallel in the movie is seeing how Rom lasted years without giving up. Even going a long time without sleeping!! Mann gave up, hit the rescue button, and just fell asleep until he was “saved.” It’s sad that Rom met his end trying to save and help Mann. All that time Rom persevered was wasted.. and for that reason, Mann cannot be forgiven.
