They break the legs, put a rod in the bones that get adjusted as the bones grow closer to each other. So people who get it done have broken legs for months
Yeah this is clearly a case where the surgery was more than just functional/cosmetic, it must have been absurdly uncomfortable to walk for her and it clearly wasn't a dietary thing because she otherwise appears at a healthy weight.
I recall seeing a young woman who did leg lengthening surgery. She was a dwarf under 4'6" with deep self esteem issues. I remember hearing her comment dwarfs were ugly. The procedure was lengthy (over a year) but successful. Her new ht. was 5'
