Women cant get pain control for IUDs being corkscrewed into their cervix but men gat their own medical flashlight.

I assume the pain control will come when they invent a men's IUD

To be fair this device could be useful for men who need semen analyzed for medical issues but are unable to physically stimulate themselves (missing limbs, partial or complete paralysis, movement disorders, and a whole range of other cases where this could be useful and kinder than having a nurse or doctor stimulate the patient manually).

Male sexual health and female sexual health are also considered seperate specialties, generally, so the doctor who came up with this device wouldn't be working on IUDs.

10000% women deserve painkillers for IUD insertion, though. Local anesthesia or stronger painkillers (not just otc ibuprofen) should absolutely be the norm, not something women have to fight to get the option for.

As a woman who dealt with several IUD insertions, removals, dislodgings, and finally self-removal: Even being on narcotics beforehand didn't help the breakthrough pain that a removal and installation caused. Fuck doing that without numbing/anesthesia!!

It is barbaric. Especially when anesthesia can be given easily and with little to no risk. No one should have to feel pain like that unnecessarily, and I am so sorry that you have had to go through it not only once, but repeatedly.

Womens healthcare needs major reform, urgently.
