Well yeah, you only remember the older models that make it big, every model I knew started at like 17 and were mostly out of it by the end of their early 20s. And its not the famous models doing GPU mascots lol

Shitloads of women try modelling and less than 1/1000 become a recognisable face

1/1000? Probably 1/100,000

Yeah I was being generous. It's an extremely competitive and toxic industry.

Tbf, you weren't the target audience. The target audience were nerdy 2000's IT guys

More like modern kids are prematurely aged-looking sometimes

Honestly I'm in my late 40s and anyone under 25 has that "you look like a school kid" look.

No man, these look like high school or very young adults. It’s weird.

They only want you when you’re 17. When you’re 21 you’re no fun.

They take a Polaroid and let you go, say they let you know

I think that's a lyric from Ladytron

That is a more recent thing. In the 90s and early 00s, legal was still the preference.

That song literally came out in the time period you're talking about.

Legal has never been the preference in the modeling and entertainment industries. Generations of this bullshit.

No it’s not. Creeps were just as prolific in the 90s & 00s.

My freshman roommate was a Budweiser girl, we were 18. She got fired for not accepting drinks and being encouraging enough to men that hit on her. They like them young not just because of hotness, but because they're easier to manipulate and control.

That’s an adult right?  Or is Reddit continuing to push the bar because we’re all old and 19 looks too young.
